The hierarchy of position.
The most advantageous position is one where you are in the most control, can be struck least effectively and have the best chance of indefensible attacks of your own.
The Guard is your turning point; your best defence against attack when you are on your back, your route to getting top position and, if used effectively, your way to neutralise an opponent and finish with your own attack.
In competition these positions are rewarded with points on the scoreboard.

Designed for ages 11 to 17, our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program combines expert instruction with a supportive environment for continuous improvement. Encouraging physical well-being, strategic thinking, and self-esteem, BJJ is a holistic approach to personal development, equipping them with the tools and mindset needed to succeed both on and off the mat.
