🍂🌿 This week in Kids’ Yoga, we’ll be exploring Autumn, the changes in nature and the season of harvest. 🌾🍎

We’ll imagine ourselves as beautiful trees in Tree Pose 🌳 gently letting our leaves fall to the ground with colourful scarves. The falling leaves will symbolise letting go of worries, anxiety and any feelings we no longer need to carry. 🍂

☀️ We’ll also practise Sun Salutations, taking a moment to honour the Sun and feel gratitude for all the wonderful things we have in our lives. 🙏🏼❤️

There are so many fun variations of Sun Salutations for children! They love choosing their favourite yoga poses and creating their own flowing sequences. 🌿

🔎 Yoga Detective!
While practising our Sun Salutations, I’ll secretly leave out one yoga pose! The children will become yoga detectives and see if they can spot which pose is missing. They’ll also take turns leading their own Sun Salutation. 🕵️‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️

🍎 A little takeaway for parents: Square Breathing:

Try this simple calming breathing exercise together:

⬆️ Breathe in for 4 seconds
➡️ Hold for 4 seconds
⬇️ Breathe out for 4 seconds
⬅️ Hold for 4 seconds

Repeat for a few rounds, imagining you are slowly tracing the four sides of a square. 🟦🌬️
A lovely little practice to help children (and grown-ups!) slow down, settle their minds and let go of tension. ❤️

🌿🍂🌾 Breathe in the new season, and let go of what you no longer need. 🍎🌳

🍁 The autumn term has begun! I’m looking forward to welcoming all the children back to my yoga club 🧘‍♀️💛

This week, we’ll be exploring worries and emotions, as going back to school or starting Reception can bring a mixture of feelings. Some children may feel excited and happy, while others might feel nervous or anxious.

We’ll learn to notice not only the big emotions, but also the little signs our bodies give us — butterflies in our tummy, a tight feeling, a faster heartbeat or changes in our breathing.

💨 Through simple breathing exercises, movement and mindfulness, children can discover ways to calm their bodies, release tension and manage worries.

One of our favourite activities is an “Inside Weather Check” ☀️🌧️🌈 — tuning in to how we feel inside and describing it as sunny, rainy or stormy!

📖 Our story this week will be Ruby’s Worry by Tom Percival, helping us explore that it’s okay to have worries and that we don’t have to keep them to ourselves.

💛 A little takeaway for parents:

Try asking your child, “What’s the weather like inside you today?” rather than simply asking if they’re happy or sad. It can be a gentle way to help them pause, notice their feelings and share what’s going on inside.

Feeling deeply grateful for my beautiful yoga teacher Jaina 🙏✨

For over 10 years, she has been a guiding light on my yoga journey — gently supporting me not only in my practice, but in coming home to myself. 🧘‍♀️🌿

Yoga has taught me that the journey is never just about the body. It is about finding stillness within, trusting the process, and creating balance between body, mind and soul.

Today’s beautiful flow left me feeling grounded, centred and connected ✨

So grateful for this journey, for the wisdom shared, and for the beautiful souls who cross our path and help us grow 🙏💚

Jaina offers beautiful 1:1 yoga sessions as well as Yoga for Mums classes, if you’re looking to deepen your practice or simply create some space for yourself 🌸🧘‍♀️

✨ Another trip around the sun. ✨

Today reminded me that the greatest gifts aren't things, but moments.

Walking in nature, laughing together, sharing a film, enjoying dinner... simply being present with my son. 🌿

In a world that moves so fast, quality time is one of the purest expressions of love ❤️

Grateful for this beautiful day, for these precious memories, and for another year of growth, gratitude, and connection 🙏

❤️ I Am Love

This beautiful book of Compassion by Susan Verde, will be our guide this week in Kids Yoga 💚

"I put my hands on my heart and listen. And that is where I find the answer: I have compassion. I act with tenderness. I am love."

Together, we'll explore what it truly means to be love—not only by showing kindness and compassion to others, but also by offering that same kindness to ourselves.

We'll talk about self-love and self-respect, learning that we are all worthy of love exactly as we are. We'll discover that having compassion also means listening to our own hearts, honouring our feelings, and knowing it's okay to say no when something doesn't feel right. Healthy boundaries are a way of caring for ourselves and others with kindness and respect.

Love means showing kindness, living with gratitude, taking care of our minds and bodies, and treating ourselves with the same gentleness we offer a good friend.

When we let our hearts lead the way, we help create a kinder, more peaceful world—one small act of love at a time. 🌿❤️🌿

💚 Yoga Jenga this week in our Kids Yoga classes! 💚

This week we'll be having fun with our Yoga Jenga game, encouraging children to build kindness, confidence, appreciation, and self-love—one block at a time! Through movement, positive affirmations, and mindful discussion, we'll explore how our words and actions can help us and others feel happy, strong, and valued.

We'll begin the class by practising Sun Salutations to gently warm up our bodies, wake up our muscles, and energise our minds.

We'll also practise Sitali (Cooling) Breath, a calming breathing technique that helps children cool down, relax, and regulate their emotions.

To finish, we'll enjoy a lovely long guided relaxation, giving everyone time to rest, recharge, and leave the class feeling peaceful and refreshed. 🌞🧘‍♀️💚

💪 Conquering Fears, Anxiety & Worry

This week in our Kids Yoga classes, we'll explore fears, worries, and anxiety in a fun, supportive way.

We'll talk about how everyone feels afraid sometimes—even grown-ups! Being brave doesn't mean never feeling scared. It means taking a deep breath, believing in yourself, and trying anyway.

A book that has always inspired me is Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers. One of its biggest lessons is that we don't have to wait for fear to disappear before we do something new. We can feel the fear, breathe through it, and do it anyway.

We'll build our inner strength with powerful Warrior poses, repeat positive affirmations like: 💪 "I am brave!" 💪 "I am courageous!" 💪 "I can do it!"

And we'll finish with an exciting Space Yoga adventure 🚀✨, travelling through the galaxy and discovering that the greatest strength is already inside us.

Every little step of courage helps us grow. 💙🌍

🌿 This week's Kids Yoga theme: Learning to Let Go

We'll explore what it means to let go.
For children, letting go doesn't mean forgetting someone or pretending feelings don't exist. It means learning that it's okay to let go of worries, sad feelings, disappointments, or things we can't change, so our hearts have space for happiness, kindness and new adventures.

Together we will:

🧘 Practise calming yoga poses
🌬️ Use our breath to release big feelings
💭 Talk about emotions in a safe and gentle way
💜 Learn that all feelings are welcome, but they don't have to stay forever

Our special reminder is: "Breathe in calm... breathe out and let go."

I try to empower every child to feel stronger, more brave and always enough 🌈✨
