Watford Underwater Club - Scuba and Snorkelling Watford Underwater Club (BSAC affiliated). We no longer operate dive courses , conduct course crossovers (PADI) or own a RIB for ocean dives.

We are no longer based at Watford central Leisure Centre and meet no more on thursday evening from 20:30 to 22:00 A BSAC affiliated Scuba Diving club since 1956 we are based in the Watford area but dive all around the UK and the rest of the world. Founded by a Group of like minded enthusiasts, Watford Underwater Club held its first Annual General Meeting in January 1956. We have a membership of ar

ound 60, with diverse underwater interests, ranging from photography to wreck diving to marine biology. So whatever your interests you are likely to find someone within the club to share your pursuits. We own a 21 foot rigid hulled inflatable boat which we mainly use in Dorset and is in continuous use by members throughout the year, as well as numerous trips elsewhere in the UK and abroad.

It is very sad to say but the club has now disbanded, Rising costs and lack of 'new blood' has put an end to the club which is actually celebrating 50 years in the diving game. I wish all our past members lots of love. We are still meeting on a Thursday in the White Lion if you fancy a chinwag

The time has come to say goodbye to the club as we know it. Lack of funds and members and the advancing age of most members means that we can no longer keep going as a viable club. We had our last Thursday session and went to the pub after as always. A sad affair but we are all still friends and will continue to meet and talk of the good times we had. Here are some pictures from that last pub meeting.
