You don't need an hour of silence to reconnect with yourself. You need permission to stop performing "fine."

That's the whole idea behind Mum & Baby yoga. It's not a class you have to leave your baby to attend, and it's not a class where you have to be anywhere other than exactly where you are — sleep-deprived, distracted, baby fed five minutes ago or about to need feeding again. All of it is welcome on the mat.

Some weeks it'll look like flowing through poses. Other weeks it'll look like lying on your back while your baby grabs at your hair. Both are the practice.

Join me on Mondays at Yoga Studio Sattva Waterlooville. Come whenever you can — there's no version of this that's "too messy" to show up to. 🌿👶

Thinking about starting yoga, but worried about being judged? Sharing a couple of things that go through my head when I guide your practice! Yoga is not a performance and my role as your guide is to look after you, not judge you!

Yoga was never meant to be a spiritual vacation from your problems.

When we use it solely as an escape, we turn a deeply transformative practice into just another coping mechanism.

Here is what happens when we shift from “escaping” to “engaging”:

- We face the discomfort: Holding a challenging pose teaches us how to sit with discomfort in real life without immediately trying to run away.
- We practice radical presence: Instead of numbing out, we become hyper-aware of our thoughts, our breath, and our bodies.
- We build resilience: The mat is a microcosm. How you react when your balance wavers or your muscles burn is exactly how you react when life gets messy.

Yoga doesn’t build a wall between you and the world. It gives you the spinal strength, both literally and metaphorically, to stand tall right in the thick of it.

Let’s stop trying to escape. Let’s start tuning in.
