One of our members Clokie, is running 10 miles a day, from 10 days, finishing with the Great South Run on Sunday 19 October - raising money for Solent Mind.
Yesterday in all classes - including teens and kids - we ran a team 10 milerโฆ teams of 2/3 or 4 completed 10 miles to support Clokie in his challenge and also to raise funds and awareness for Solent Mind. This could be done as a run, row or ski - if it was a bike, it was 20 miles!
Thank you to everyone that came in and took part, and donated - even our kids class rowed and ran (they didnโt quite do 10 miles though!)
Clokie is undertaking this challenge, due to an incident that happened whilst he was a serving firefighter. An incident that resulted in him trying to take his own life, and then subsequently being diagnosed with PTSD, depression and anxiety.
This is where Solent Mind comes into play, they help so many people that have that have struggled with their mental health.
Without an organisation like this so many people might not be here and many more would be suffering in silence.
The donation link can be found in our bio and on display at the gym.
Please remember: Checking in with someone might feel small, but it can make a real difference. If youโre struggling, please donโt go through this alone. You are needed here. The world is better with you in it.
Donโt forget we also run our Mans Club on the first Friday of every month itโs free to attend and is open to all. So you can come in and take part in a workout (if you wish) and be part of a community in a safe and open environment and, if you want to, talk to others.
