Watchet Boat Owners' Association (WBOA) WATCHET BOAT OWNERS ASSOCIATION-(WBOA) We are a small and friendly boat club based at the Somerset coastal town of Watchet.

We have excellent facilities including a fully serviced boat storage yard, a workshop and a tractor and gantry to launch and retrieve boats. Membership is open to all so why not come along and join us ? We are the recognised berth holder representative group on the Watchet Harbour Advisory Committee which gives us access to the Council Harbour Board.

A grand weekend was had by all at the BCYA Rally in Portishead over the weekend, and the weather was amazing!

BCYA Portishead Rally 27 -29 May 2023
Update: 3 weeks to go!

The BCYA are pleased to announce that Portishead Marina have agreed to a 50% discount for participating yachts during their stay at the Marina for the 27th to 29th of May. Membership of the BCYA is conferred on members of clubs and associations which are affiliated to the BCYA. So remember to mention that you are attending the rally when booking to get your discount ( tel 01275 841941). A reminder that we are expecting a large turnout and that you may be asked to raft or moor alongside the wall with other rally attendees.
The format for the rally is coming together. The customary reception will be held 1800, with a welcome from a local dignatary (subject to local election results!). A prize for the best dressed yacht will be presented and a raffle will be held. The BCYA will provide wine/soft drinks. After the reception a Sea Shanty event will be held (further details to follow).

With the cancellation of the Gloucester Rally, BCYA are pleased to announce that Portishead Marina have agreed to host a Portishead Marina Rally over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, from Saturday 27th May to Monday 29th May 2023. Visiting yachts can book a discounted berth directly with Portishead Marina (tel 01275 841941). It is anticipated that this will be a popular event and booking in advance is highly recommended. To allow as many visitors as possible, yachts may be rafted, which will create a great atmosphere. The BCYA will host a reception for all visitors and a Sea Shanty session will be organised in aid of the RNLI.

Hi all - the BCYA rally at Portishead Marina over the final May bank holiday weekend (27th to 29th May 2023) looks to be a fabulous event, and we have already booked our boat into the Marina for the weekend!
If anyone would like to sail/motor up to Portishead Marina, and would like help with passage planning, please contact me on: [email protected].
Otherwise, we have our next WBOA social get-together next Friday 5th May at 7 p.m. at the Royal British Legion in Watchet, and can discuss this there.
