Been a funny old season due to weather.

Lots of games cancelled, pitches waterlogged for weeks on end.

The lads have struggled to find their stride.

But boy are we back.

Last weekend saw an incredible performance from all involved. A massive team effort and goals galore. We have struggled to find our end product this season and it has become a massive focus in training which has paid off.

This weekend again the lads rallied around each other. Everyone played a part in securing a clean sheeted win. Birthday boy Marvel opened the scoring, adding to his tally this season and our top scorer Jay added another to his.

Defensively we were solid, not allowing much to get through on goal. Our midfield were very quick to react to counter opportunities.

You can see a desire to win in the lads now and they give 100% until the final whistle. Couldn't be much prouder of them at the minute.

MOTM today Larry for being an absolute unit at the back, always up for a challenge and never gives up.

What it meant to them

Great start to what promises to be an excellent season.

After a cancelled match, a postponement due to weather and another cancelled match, Washington U11S Whites started their 25/26 season against a very good Div 6 team in our first cup game.

A poor start saw Washington 2-0 down. But the lads showed true heart and spirit to come back and take the lead 3-2. A late goal meant we went into extra time. This then led to a penalty shootout (Sudden death)....our opponent struck the post on their first attempt. And we buried ours to take the win.

Brilliant performances all round from old and new faces today. Looking to be a great season ahead for us.

MOTM - Close as always, but Jack was on another level today. Strong at the back and showed excellent defensive qualities throughout the game.

Last weekend saw the lads and parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces all come out to celebrate the lads achievements and it goes without saying... what a season they have had.

Myself and Rob are super proud of the way the boys have performed over the season but especially during the spring cup.

The awards chosen by myself and Rob were very close and anyone could have earned them. The lads made it a very difficult decision, and that's they way it should be.

Firstly Managers player, Jacob has shown great attitude and versatility during this season. He came back with a fighting spirit after struggling to find form at the start of the season and played a pivotal role in us gaining promotion.

Coaches player: Our captain Zach continues to be solid at the back, leading by example and being committed to better himself in training and playing a crucial role in captaining our team.

Development award: Jake has came on leaps and bounds this season, going from being a great defender to someone who now not only wins the ball but looks to run with it and take on opponents. He is constantly checking what we expect in drills and shows great concentration to better himself every week.

Parents player/Players player: Double whammy of awards for our rock at CB and one of the key components to our solid defence. Larry never shys away from the ball and you can be guaranteed he will win the ball 9/10 times.

We are incredibly excited for next seasons n and preparations began straight away for our transition to 9 a side in September. I can see great things coming from this team and we appreciate all of your support this season and hope you all have a wonderful summer break

Been very quiet on here and I apologise.

The Whites have been competing in the Durham County FC Cup. And what a run we have had.

Started our opener on a Loss but since then we have came away unbeaten in the last 8 games. The lads have really upped the tempo and showed us what they are capable of.

Yesterday saw an excellent performance from all involved. Walking away the victors in the baking sun was no small feat.

Today was bittersweet for us as we walked away with another Win in our Derby against Washington United Greens, but one of our long serving team mates Jacob has taken the decision to leave us and try a new venture with the Greens. Today was his last game for the Whites and we wish him all the best for the future.

Myself and Rob are immensely proud of what the lads have achieved over their last 8 games and we can't wait to see how we manage making the switch to 9v9 in September.

Washington Whites U10s travelled down to Blackpool over the weekend to compete in The Blackpool Football Tournament.

A great weekend had by all, nonstop laughter and some incredible football. The boys fought with everything they had against some very good competition across both days and managed to make it the the semi finals.

Myself, Rob and the parents are incredibly proud of this achievement. The boys played some of the best football we have seen for a while. The heat was scorching and they still managed to dig deep to overcome this.

Outside of the tournament the Washy Whites Family soaked up the sun along the promenade and enjoyed some of the attractions. I feel the team needed this break away and have grew even closer as a team and made memories that will last a lifetime.

Now we focus on the spring cup and hope that the Blackpool form follows us home.

Disappointing weekend for the Whites.

By far the stronger team in today's matchup but it wasn't meant to be.

A very physical game.

A very capable Washington.

A very unlucky few chances from out opponent led to goals.

Both keepers having a great performance.

A lot to work on, as always.

Onwards and upwards and I know these lads can bounce back.

Today was the day the Whites completed their 5k walk down Roker.

To anyone that has donated, bought raffle tickets and footy cards...THANK YOU!!

Lots of sore legs and a few sore heads (parents you know who you are - hopefully the fresh sea air cured them hangovers)

We stopped for fish and chips, a trip to the park and then ice cream before walking back.

We were joined by grandparents, little sisters older brothers and of course the team mascot Monty and it felt like a great team bonding day out.
