🚨 WHAT DO YOU THINK? 🚨
There’s growing discussion around a possible new law that could ban social media for under-16s.
As a parent, instructor, and someone who grew up in the early days of the internet, I find it a fascinating topic.
I'll be honest... I was on MSN Messenger all the time when I was younger! 😅 It was how we chatted with friends, arranged meet-ups, and stayed connected.
But social media today is a very different world.
On one hand, online engagement is an important part of modern life. It helps young people connect, learn, and communicate in ways previous generations never could.
On the other hand, there are real dangers:
⚠️ Online predators posing as friends
⚠️ Cyberbullying that follows children home
⚠️ Pressure to compare themselves to unrealistic lifestyles
⚠️ Endless scrolling affecting sleep, focus, and mental wellbeing
As martial arts instructors, we see first-hand how confidence, discipline, resilience, and real-world friendships can positively impact young people.
So we're curious...
👇 Is banning social media for under-16s a good thing or a bad thing?
Would it protect children, or should parents have the final say?
