The final award went to Kayleigh, Manager’s Player of the Season.

Kayleigh returned to HBW after a year away and we’re so pleased she came back to us. Kayleigh has played almost every position on the pitch for us this season and just got on with it. We know she’d prefer to be more attacking but has often had to play in defence because it’s what the team needed.

She is one of the first to arrive and last to leave making sure that she helps management with all the jobs that come with being a grassroots team.

Popular with the team, always looks for the positives, supports her teammates and has grown in confidence as the season progressed. Kayleigh has also agreed to be our new ‘Social Secretary’ making sure that we find time to socialise as a team away from the pitch which is what HBW is all about.

The team chose Jay as their Players’ Player of the season. Having previously made the odd appearance for HBW in the past while being dual signed this year she was all ours and what an impact she made.

Jay has added more quality to our already talented midfield, her work rate has been incredible and every week she has been in with a shout for being player of the match.

“Such a strong player in midfield. Works well with everyone, gives guidance, works so hard every game”

“Jay has had shout outs every week for her performances which shows the impact she has on games and how she influences from the middle alongside Libby. Jay has been a key part of the team in that centre midfield role, always being available to pass to when playing out from the defence, and then showing her quality in putting balls forwards too”

Next up is the award for most improved player. Usually just chosen by the manager but we always ask teammates and supporters who they think as well and everyone was in agreement this year. This was Amanda’s first season playing after just training with us last year, and a what a season she’s had.

“Amanda has shown great growth this season. Her confidence has really developed, and she has become a consistent and dependable player for the team. She is a lovely person to be around too, always bringing a positive attitude and giving her best for the team”

“She actively wants to learn and develop for herself and the good of the team. She often asks me questions on how she can better herself. She’s the most improved by far!”

Our first award last night was chosen by our supporters who voted Mollie as their player of the season.

“She is never one to back out of a challenge whether it’s winning the ball with her head or a slide tackle to win the ball”

“Has even perfected the headed goal a few times”

Yesterday the team got together to celebrate the end of another season. A chilled garden party thank you Lut's Place for allowing us to use your beautiful garden.

Thankfully it stayed dry so we could play boules, co****le, rounders and tree climbing…because why not.

Pizza and ice cream made it a great evening.

Later we will share who took home the awards.
