I recently had a client - no PB, and he couldn’t understand why his progress had slowed down and he wasn’t getting the results he expected.

And that’s really got me thinking, there are so many other ways to measure PBs (and as a coach, I find these arguably more important!)

To me, the biggest wins are the quiet ones - the member who said they’d never stick to a gym, now consistently training for over a year, the client whose back doesn’t hurt anymore, the mum who can finally get up off the floor with her kids without help, someone starting to feel like themselves again.

Here’s a question worth sitting with: if your body could never change again from today, would training still add value to your life? If the answer’s yes - it’s not an outcome you’re chasing anymore, training is part of who you are.

If you couldn’t measure progress my a number, how would you measure it?

For a long time, binge eating and binge drinking weren’t a phase I was fighting, they were just the norm of how I lived.

About 11 years ago, that changed. I decided something needed to shift, but I knew I didn’t want to trade one extreme for another. I didn’t want strict diets, guilt around food or training, or a lifestyle that I couldn’t keep up.

Instead I built something sustainable - a way of eating and training I could actually keep for life. I still enjoy the wine, the pizza, the nights off. I just don’t need them to escape anything anymore.

That’s exactly why I coach the way I do - no extremes, no guilt, just a balanced approach built around your real life.

If you’re struggling to find balance, drop me a DM and we can discuss how to get you there.

I’m proud to be normal!

There was a time when I considered that a ‘good’ PT meant eating perfectly, never missing a workout and always making the healthiest choice. And if I didn’t, I thought I wouldn’t be taken seriously.

But that’s not real life!! I eat chocolate, go out for dinner, drink wine and sometimes miss a workout.

But I also prioritise protein, vegetables, movement and the things that make me feel good.

Honestly, I think one of the healthiest things you can learn is how to enjoy the things you want without guilt, then simply carry on with your normal habits.

That’s what we want our members to learn at pod too.

If you struggle with balance, guilt or feeling ‘bad’ then this is exactly what we help our members with.

Drop me a DM and we can chat about how to create you a balanced lifestyle that you enjoy and can be consistent with.

Big up Ali!!! 9 inches and 7.5kg lost in 3 months, and the lightest she’s been since November 2022!

I’m so proud of Ali, no extreme diets or crazy unsustainable workout plans. How did she get there?

- Consistent quality training 3x per week
- Eating in a calorie deficit
- Upping her steps and joining run club when possible
- Being patient and consistent with these habits and understanding results don’t happen overnight

This is exactly what we want at pod - helping people make progress without feeling like their whole life has to revolve around losing weight.

And when you find an approach you can actually stick to, results will follow.

If you’ve been thinking about making a change and want to find out what training at pod could look like for you, DM me POD to register your interest.

I have something I want to tell you about! 😱

From October 5th, Pod Personal Training will be running the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training. It's a full ten-week course, taught by me and the coaching team, that qualifies you as a fully certified PT.

The qualification is regulated, awarded by Focus Awards, and recognised by CIMSPA. It's the qualification employers and insurers ask for. Once you pass, you can coach anywhere in the country.

We're running it in partnership with FitPro Education. They provide the course material, the assessments, and the Focus Awards certification. Me and the team deliver the practical coaching, the community and support you through it.

If you've ever thought about turning your interest in training into something more, either as a career or just to understand what you're doing in the gym properly, this is worth a look.

The first cohort has 10 places. Book a call and I'll walk you through it and tell you everything you need to know.

There’s a link in the bio of our new page with more information on this exciting opportunity 🎉🎉🎉
