At WCFC, we do not hold formal trials.

That is intentional.

We believe young players should be developed, not judged from one session, one mistake, or one quiet day.

Football should be inclusive and developmental, but it should also have structure, standards, and clear expectations.

WCFC has built a structured Youth Development Programme, underpinned by our EDGE Framework.

First-season delivery is U8-U15, with a wider pathway from U8 to Senior First Team football.

We are not looking for finished players.
We are looking for players who want to learn, work hard, listen, enjoy their football, and improve over time.

Our focus is on:
Fair game-time
Positive coaching
Learning while enjoying the game
Challenging but supportive sessions
Smaller squads
Visible development over time

If you are a parent looking for a different kind of football environment for your child, we would be pleased to hear from you.

At WCFC, we do not hold formal trials.

That is intentional.

We believe football should be inclusive, developmental, and built around helping young players improve over time.

A child should not feel that their place in football depends on one session, one mistake, one quiet day, or whether they already look like the finished player.

Our job as a club is to build the environment that helps players grow.

That means structured coaching, positive support, challenging sessions, smaller squads, and a clear focus on fair game-time opportunity across the season.

It also means looking at attitude, willingness to learn, effort, behaviour, and how a player develops within the group.

WCFC is now recruiting coaches and volunteers for the 2026/27 season.

Warwickshire Community Football Club is building a structured Youth Development Programme for U7-U16 boys and girls, built around our EDGE Framework.

We are looking for people who want to help create the right environment for young players to learn, develop, and enjoy their football.

Coach positions are paid roles.

Pay: £12.72 per hour, plus statutory holiday pay
Effective total: £14.25 per hour
Coach roles only.

Training evenings are currently planned for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with matchday involvement on Saturdays. The weekly commitment will vary depending on age group and role.

You do not need years of coaching experience to get involved. What matters is reliability, willingness to learn, and the right attitude towards supporting young players.

Coaches will be supported through their journey, including in-house training. Applicants will need to complete the FA Introduction to Coaching Football course, and WCFC can support with DBS, First Aid, and Safeguarding requirements where appropriate.

We are also looking for volunteers who may be able to support with matchdays, events, admin, equipment, parent communication, and general club operations.

Warwickshire Community Football Club is not being built as “just another team”.

WCFC is a structured Youth Development Programme for U7-U16 boys and girls, built around our EDGE Framework.

That means we are thinking carefully about coaching, environment, standards, player confidence, long-term athletic development, and how young players grow over time.

We want to fill the gap between traditional grassroots football and academy-style development.

Not a professional academy. Not a private coaching academy. A serious community football club with a clear development structure.

That is why sponsorship and partnership support matters.

Local businesses and organisations are not just helping with kit, equipment, or launch costs. They are helping create a better football environment for young players in Warwickshire.

If you are a local business, organisation, or someone who knows a person who may want to support what WCFC is building, please get in touch.

You can message us directly, tag someone relevant, or share this post.

Warwickshire Community Football Club is building something with real purpose.

WCFC has created a structured Youth Development Programme for U7-U16 boys and girls, built around our EDGE Framework.

Our aim is to fill the gap between traditional grassroots football and academy-style development: a step-up in structure, standards, coaching detail, and long-term player development, while still keeping the community feel that local football should have.

We believe young players deserve an environment where development is visible, support is consistent, and football is about more than turning up for a match at the weekend.

That is where local sponsors and partners can make a real difference.

This is not just about logo placement. It is about helping launch and grow a structured youth development environment for young players across Warwickshire.

If you are a local business, organisation, or someone who knows people who may want to support a serious youth development project, we would love to hear from you.

Please message us, tag someone relevant, or share this post with someone who may want to be part of what WCFC is building.

Club name update.

As part of the affiliation process, we have been advised that new clubs are not permitted to use the word “County” within their official club title.

Because of this, Warwick County FC will now become:

Warwickshire Community Football Club.

We are still WCFC.

The name has changed, but the club has not.

Same club.
Same values.
Same mission.
Still WCFC.

We are continuing to build a progressive, inclusive, development-focused football club for Warwick, Warwickshire, and the surrounding community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far.
