Happy New Year to you all!

It's been a year of great change and great joy, this year, but also one where I'm acutely aware of how important good health is, as I have seen so many friends and family struggle with it.

So for 2026 I wish you joy and good health, because without the second, the first is hard to experience.

For all the pilots, blue skies and gentle landings, and for all of us, the chance to tap into your creativity.

Not many, but there were some bonuses to lockdown. Five years ago we were doing a transit of Luton and Stansted in one flight.
It's a great feeling when you know the jet on the ground is being told to mind out for the little Piper C**t overhead!
It's all a little busier there these days, isn't it?

Some days it's better to be seeing your downwind leg from the ground, looking up!

Happy birthday Ted! 104 today!!!
I don't think I am often going to get the chance to help cut the birthday cake for a fellow pilot who has been a dear friend and a huge inspiration, in life and in aviation, on the occasion of his 104th birthday.
It's nine years ago since I went to a 95th birthday party for Ted Barrett - little did I know then what a massive impact he would have on my life. It is an honour to know him - his feisty spirit, his sharp insight, his humble gratitude for what life brings. A lesson to us all.

When a friend sent us this photo of a stunning tulip field near Sandringham, we decided to take a look for ourselves - from the air. Sadly, the royal visit on Friday meant we stayed away from that area, so we didn't see them at their peak. Plus Marham on the radio and Sandringham's exclusion zones just minutes away, don't really allow for full enjoyment! Still, they make an interesting abstract tapestry.

Watching the flypast on the first of the VE Day celebrations was a wonderful event - from the opening roar of the Lancaster flying overhead to the Red Arrows finishing off the display. And the crowds on the Mall were obviously undeterred by the threatening skies.

Flying into Wellesbourne today, I had this grand old warbird follow me in, only to find out later we fly from the same airfield. Not today though - in the Skyranger and we had to hurry back to make sure we were on the ground before the royal exodus to Sandringham blocked the channel between Stansted and Luton, and a whole lot more besides!

As a pilot there's always a moment in the depths of winter when you wonder whether you will ever fly again, whether the sun will shine, the rain will stop and in fact, whether you can still fly at all.

Or maybe that's just me. I did note, though, that my dear friend of nearly 104 years old found this a particularly miserable winter too!

But then the time comes when you get back into the pilot seat of your plane, and take off, as I did recently.

The clouds were very tempting so I climbed up into them - always with a good visibility on the other side. It was enough to wipe away any winter blues.

I knew I still had to land on the trickiest, shortest runway available to us, as the ground was awfully muddy, so I couldn't relax until I was back in front of my hangar. But it's good to know I still have wings to fly.

Two years ago today, I launched my book, Find Your Wings and Fly into the wide blue sky!

I am loving seeing how it has kept on flying, got some great reviews and helped my coaching business.

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported my along the way. You don't know how much I appreciate it!

It’s Thanksgiving Day today, and as chance would have it, I met a fellow pilot at the airfield whom I hadn’t seen since the pandemic closed down our world in 2020.

It had me thinking about what has changed in my life, and so many were things I could register with gratitude:

I have a new rating on my pilot’s licence which means I can fly the gracious Piper C**t I was flying today.

I published the book I was working on when I last met him, Find Your Wings and Fly: Life lessons from the cockpit, on Blue Monday in January 2023 (available for purchase on Amazon).

I wrote a companion workbook for readers to download and figure out how they can also take wing when their lives are feeling grim and boring.

I created a group course based on these life lessons and launched that on Blue Monday 2024, which had amazing impact and got wonderful feedback from the exclusive group of women who experienced it.

I became a PQ coach after taking the PQ Foundations course transformed my understanding of how we can change our negative thinking patterns.

I helped other women find their own next chapter in life.

And I am now preparing to take another cohort of incredible women through the 2025 Find Your Wings and Fly course and thrilled to be able to deliver it to them.

Oh, and I did an excellent 360-degree balanced turn in the plane today!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Happy memories! When i think of all the places we have been since then, this was still a Red Letter Day!
