YogaBirth Pregnancy yoga and birth preparation class is perfect to support you through your pregnancy and into motherhood. We believe in approaching birth with love and in lifting women and guiding them through this incredible transition in their lives. I am a birthkeeper by nature and believe in the sacredness and power of birth. I believe that the pregnancy birth experience works its way into th
e lives of families and the wider community and from there a society as a whole. We must care for our birthing with a gentleness and lightness of spirit. Our women are the life givers and that is a crucial role in the way of life we all share. I believe in guiding women with compassion, warmth and kindness through their pregnancy journey into motherhood. I believe in guiding women to seek out their own inner belief and to love and honour themselves as mothers life givers and creators. I have many years experience working with mums to be and new mothers, as well as having walked this path myself seeing my children into adulthood as well adjusted and beautiful human beings. My now grown children and family are central to who I am as a Person, Teacher, Guide, Midwife and Therapist. They are my greatest supports and loves and guides in my own life. There is a fantastic community of YogaBirth Mammas created from attending the classes I have held. The power of community support and friendships are invaluable at the time of pregnancy. Creating that sense of community and support is one of my primary aims in giving YogaBirth classes. Each person that attends is welcomed as they are and will be supported fully in whatever their choices may be without discrimination, shame or guilt. The class is suitable for women 14 weeks + right through to full term. We practice gentle pregnancy adapted asanas/postures, gentle stretches and movements for pregnancy to feel good and help dissolve common pregnancy ailments such as heartburn, cramps, backache. An antenatal education is weaved throughout the class and the opportunity for peer sharing, support and discussion is encouraged. The aim of the class is to empower women to their own unique positive birth experience however that may be. To provide information about the physiology of birth and to feel fully informed and able to make confident and helpful choices in your pregnancy and birth in collaboration with your health care team. The classes will help prepare you completely for your birth and Motherhood. No question is unanswered if it is asked, no stone in unturned in exploring what is right for you. Classes last for 1.5 hours and include: yoga for pregnancy, active birth labour positions, effective breathing techniques for now and for labour, pelvic floor exercise with an emphasis on tone, the breath and opening for labour, hypnobirthing, visualisations and meditation to help quiet and focus the mind, ending with a guided relaxation and a chance to connect with your baby. We complete the class with herbal tea and a chance to share in a circle with antenatal education. Classes run weekly at £15 per class. Ideally to be paid monthly. YogaBirth does not discriminate on income - so if you are unable to meet the cost of the class/ course please do speak with me as I would rather share my knowledge at a price you can afford than you not come at all.
