Thank you to for making our visit to Fort Lauderdale Boat Show and the Seakeeper Founders Dinner so memorable. It was brilliant to be together with Tia Lotter Sorensen and family, plus all our SK friends (our sailing family) from our 18 months travels on Traverse. It was an honour to be recognised alongside so many others. It was a special bonus for me to meet and spend a little time with a true British legend and gent - Nigel Mansell. Mike and Andrea thank you all.

Interview about our Seabed 2030 https://seabed2030.org/ we undertook aboard Traverse between NZ and France - quite possibly the easiest citizen science initiative which registered SeaKeepers Discovery Yachts are able to contribute towards. Arrived in Camargue after some light downwind sailing under spinnaker with Traverse - all feeling a little sad that it will likely be our last after our rollercoaster of a cruising passage from New Zealand to S France.

It’s been amazing to sail this last stage with Carl and Tim who have muscled through some tough rough days and boring calm ones. They have been total stars and together we have been learning and laughing in that way only family can.

We now have a week or two to enjoy being here in the South of France while also decamping ourselves from 18 months of living onboard our home afloat.

The dolphins around us don’t mind the lack of wind as we head East into the Mediterranean bound for Camargue in the S of France.

The last 48hrs has been an upwind slog through the Straits of Gibraltar and, after
a brief stop in Barbate, Spain to grab some sleep, we are back on passage.
There are now regular ORCA (aka Killer Whale) “attacks” - much better described as interactions - reported each day. These interactions can involve losing rudder blade(s) and so they are not to be ignored.
Looking at the accumulated data, we chose to sail in the deep water
