Things Iโve learnt from actually switching off for two weeks as a business ownerโฆ ๐
Iโll be the first to admit, Iโm not very good at switching off.
When you run your own business, thereโs always something you could be doing. Messages to answer, posts to create, ideas going round your head, plans to make, things to organiseโฆ and that little voice telling you that if youโre not doing something, you should be ๐
But these past two weeks, Iโve really tried to shut the laptop, put my phone down a little more and just be.
And Iโve learnt a few thingsโฆ
โจ My business doesnโt fall apart because I take some time off.
โจ Not every message needs answering immediately.
โจ Rest isnโt being lazy, sometimes itโs exactly what you need.
โจ Being present with the people you love is far more important than constantly being โproductiveโ.
โจ Some of my best ideas actually come when I stop forcing myself to think about work.
โจ I love my businessโฆ but Iโm also allowed to have a life outside of it.
And probably the biggest oneโฆ
You canโt pour everything you have into everyone else if you never take the time to fill yourself back up.
I feel incredibly lucky to have built a successful business that has continued to grow, evolve and stay strong for the past 16 years. Thatโs something Iโm really proud of, and I never take for granted.
I absolutely love what I do, and Iโm SO excited to get back to my clients, classes and everything Iโve got planned.
But Iโm coming back feeling rested, grateful, motivatedโฆ and with a little reminder to myself that slowing down every now and again is actually a really good thing. ๐
Hereโs to working hardโฆ but also remembering to live a little too. ๐ฅฐ
