We’re incredibly proud to share that Izzy has become the first Aces player to represent us on the international stage, having earned a place in the Wales squad.
Her selection has been a proud moment for her family and a hugely inspiring milestone for everyone connected to the club. In a short period of time, Izzy has now played 8 games for Wales, 3 at her own under 14 level and 5 playing up for the under 15s in tournaments against the Aspire Central regional and super regional teams in Nottingham. She travels to Essex to take on the South Super Regional team ahead of the 4 nations selection for the summer. We wish her luck with the selection to represent her country at the home nations tournament.
Izzy comes from a big basketball family and is part of a true triple threat sibling rivalry, with both her twin and older brother also heavily involved in the sport.
Her achievement is a reflection of her dedication, love for the game and willingness to take on new challenges. She continues to set the bar for what’s possible in girls basketball.
A founding member of our All Girls ACES Programme and a key part of our local league team, Izzy brings passion, energy and leadership to everything she does.
But her impact goes far beyond playing. She’s a Level 2 table official, a Level 1 referee, and has just completed her Level 1 coaching certification with Basketball England - showing her all-round commitment to the game and to giving back wherever she can.
Next season, Izzy will continue to represent the club both as a player and as a coach. It’s an exciting new chapter, and we know she’ll take it on with the same drive and positivity she brings to every session.
She’s fun, infectious and driven to keep growing. We couldn’t be prouder, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
