It’s About More Than the Game.

Our free sessions give young people the opportunity to get on court, stay active and enjoy basketball, but there’s much more to it than that.

It’s a chance to meet new people, make friends, build confidence and be part of a team. Whether they’re trying basketball for the first time or already play regularly, everyone can get involved and enjoy the game at their own level.

That’s what Bigger Than Basketball means to us. Creating a welcoming environment where young people can take part, feel included and be part of something positive in their community.

Supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price’s SWAP Fund, helping local organisations provide positive activities for young people while helping to reduce isolation, crime and anti-social behaviour.

First month FREE. Girls and boys, Year 3 to Year 13.

Bigger than Basketball...

Our free summer programme gets young people on court, active and having fun, but basketball is only part of it.

It’s a chance to meet new people, make friends, build confidence, be part of a team and enjoy playing basketball, whether they’re stepping onto a court for the first time or already play regularly. Whatever their experience, there’s a place for them.

That’s what this programme is really about. Creating positive opportunities for young people to get involved, feel included and be part of something in their community.

Supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price’s SWAP Fund, which helps projects like ours provide positive activities for young people while helping to reduce isolation, crime and anti-social behaviour.

Free Basketball is coming this summer!

We’re excited to launch free basketball sessions for girls and boys from Year 3 to Year 13, running throughout the summer and into the new school term.

We have been successful in our bid for funding through Police and Crime Commissioner Dan Price’s SWAP Fund, helping us deliver a project that creates positive opportunities for young people through sport.

At Padgate Basketball Club, we’re committed to doing all we can to help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour by providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment where young people can be active, build confidence, make friends and develop new skills. We believe projects like this play an important role in creating stronger, safer communities.

Whether you’re completely new to basketball or looking to get back on court, your first month is completely free.

As a Basketball England Accredited Club, all sessions are delivered by Basketball England qualified coaches and are available at various locations, with both mixed and girls-only opportunities.

Please join me in wishing Coach Adam a very Happy Birthday.

As the driving force behind our junior programme at Padgate Basketball, Adam gives so much of his time, energy and passion to the game and to the players he coaches. His commitment to helping young people develop, both on and off the court, has had a huge impact on so many within our club.

More than that, he’s a great friend & teammate, a trusted colleague, and someone we’re lucky to have around every day.

Have a fantastic birthday, Coach. Thanks for everything you do for the club.

Following nominations from both their club coaches and Basketball Wales international coaches, Izzy (U16 Women) and Ollie (U18 Men) have been selected to attend the GB Exposure Camps at the end of the month.

The camps are a key stage in the selection process for this summer’s national team activity, with Great Britain preparing to compete in the FIBA Youth EuroBasket tournaments. The U16 Women will travel to Greece, while the U18 Men are set to compete in Croatia.

A fantastic opportunity for both players to continue their development on the international pathway.

Proud moment. 4 of our Padgate Aces are involved at the Interregional tournament in Huddersfield today. James coaching Wales U15 and helping with the U14s, Sofia representing Aspire North West 2, Izzy representing Wales U15 and Olive representing Aspire North West 1.

Fantastic afternoon at the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders coaching clinic in Manchester. Great atmosphere, plenty of familiar faces past and present, and valuable takeaways from top coaches working at the highest level.

After years of dedication and valuable contributions, Alfie is about to embark on a new chapter this summer as he heads to Ibiza to start a new job. While we’re excited for him, we’ll certainly miss having him around.

Alfie has been with us since his early years, playing through every age group and consistently demonstrating his commitment to both the sport and the club. He’s not only been a great player, but also a fellow coach, stepping up to support his brother’s team and jumping in whenever needed. His passion for the game and loyalty to the club have always been clear.

Alfie’s willingness to give his time has made him an invaluable part of the club. I’ve been lucky to have him as a friend and a teammate; his contributions extend far beyond the court and will have a lasting effect for years to come.

We wish Alfie all the best as he moves on to this exciting new opportunity. He’ll be missed, but we’re sure he’s going to do great things.
