🇬🇧 GB U20 Men Head to Belgium for Intensive Competition Camp

The Great Britain U20 Men’s Handball squad will embark on a crucial competitive training camp in Lokeren, Belgium, as they launch their intensive preparation phase.

This intensive three-day camp, running from Wednesday, 17th December to Friday, 19th December, is designed to provide the squad with high-level match experience and valuable team cohesion ahead of their major competition year in 2026.

Based at the Jeugd-en Sports complex in Lokeren, the camp features a tight schedule of training sessions, team meetings, and competitive fixtures against the national squads of Belgium, Kosovo, and Luxembourg.

Key Fixtures:

Wednesday, 17th December (20:00): Game against BEL v GBR

Thursday, 18th December (18:00): Game against KOS v GBR

Friday, 19th December (10:30): Game against LUX v GBR

This camp represents an excellent opportunity for the players to implement tactical plans and build chemistry under match pressure against strong international opposition. The experience gained here is instrumental in building the foundation for the upcoming EHF Euros and IHF Trophy campaigns next year.

The team, staff, and British Handball community are excited to see the squad in action as they continue their journey toward international success.

The GB U17s finished their EHF Championship campaign with a final defeat at the hands of hosts Kosovo.

The intensity of the week took its toll, as the team were unable to reach the same intensity as previous games. Nevertheless, despite a poor spell in the middle of the first half where Kosovo were able to pull away, the team kept fighting and showed signs of their ability to match the hosts. The final score was 35-22 to Kosovo.

Over the Championship, the results highlight the gap in experience between the teams, but the performances show that the players are able to compete at this level, with positive signs for the future.
