πŸ”₯ What Is Post-Exhaust Strength Training?
Post-exhaust training involves performing a compound exercise first, followed immediately by an isolation exercise targeting the same muscle group. This method helps you fully fatigue the muscle, increasing hypertrophy and endurance.

πŸ’ͺ Why Use It?
Maximizes Muscle Fatigue: Forces muscles to work harder after compound lifts
Enhances Muscle Growth: Stimulates deeper muscle fibers
Improves Mind-Muscle Connection: Isolation moves help you focus on form and control
Time-Efficient: Great for intense, focused workouts

🧱 Example: Chest Focus
Barbell Bench Press (Compound) – 4 sets of 6–8 reps
Dumbbell Flys (Isolation) – 3 sets of 10–12 reps

🦡 Example: Legs Focus
Squats – 4 sets of 6–8 reps
Leg Extensions – 3 sets of 12–15 reps

🧠 Tips for Success
Use moderate to heavy weight for compound lifts
Keep rest short (30–60 seconds) between exercises
Focus on form and control, especially during isolation
Don’t overdo it β€” this method is intense and best used 1–2x per week per muscle group

πŸ’ͺ Muscle of the Month: Chest

The chest is a key muscle group in the upper body and forms part of the body's main "pushing" muscles. It is responsible for movements such as pushing, pressing, and bringing the arms across the body. The chest is made up of three muscles:

βœ… Pectoralis Major – The largest chest muscle, responsible for powerful pushing movements such as bench presses, push-ups, and chest presses.

βœ… Pectoralis Minor – Located beneath the pectoralis major, this smaller muscle helps stabilise and control movement of the shoulder blade.

βœ… Serratus Anterior – Often called the "boxer's muscle," it runs along the sides of the rib cage and helps move and stabilise the shoulder blades during pressing and reaching movements.

Benefits of Strong Chest Muscles

β€’ Improves upper body strength and power
β€’ Enhances posture and shoulder stability
β€’ Supports everyday pushing and lifting tasks
β€’ Improves performance in sports and gym-based exercises
β€’ Helps reduce the risk of shoulder injuries

Great Chest Exercises

πŸ‹οΈ Bench Press
πŸ’ͺ Push-Ups
πŸ‹οΈ Incline Dumbbell Press
πŸ’ͺ Chest Flyes
πŸ‹οΈ Cable Crossovers

Train your chest regularly as part of a balanced strength programme to build strength, improve posture, and support overall upper-body function. πŸ”₯
