ABOUT THE CLUB
Warrington HEMA is a martial arts club studying Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), also known as historical fencing. The clubs main focus is on the Iberian system of La Verdadera Destreza, focused around the use of the single rapier. We will be drawing upon late 16th and 17th centuries texts detailing the use of Arms of various kind. Training is done in a safe manner with th
e use of modern protective gear such as fencing masks. The club aims to be a fun, safe and inclusive place for all to train and promote the beautiful system that is Destreza. Venue location:

Warrington HEMA also runs informal sparring sessions at Norton Priory museum near Runcorn on Fridays at 2pm - 4/5pm. This is open to people with some hema experience and is a good chance to do cross system sparring. Please note these sessions are often outside with no taught lessons.
