As there were 11 players wanting to play in Friday mornings social session, Roger who is injured organised us into a mini tournament.
Great fun had by all.

Men’s doubles final in 2025 with winners Alan McLean and Mike Doran together with runners up Martin Calway and Robert Flavell.
This years tournament is well underway with nine pairings taking par, including a grandfather and grandson which has been great to see.
The final is scheduled for 3rd October and spectators are very welcome. More details to follow.

New Season
Now that the clocks have “sprung forward”, we look forward to a new season and have high hopes that you will once again enjoy a great year of tennis at the Club.

As reported at the AGM in November, we have not increased membership fees for this season as part of our drive to increase membership numbers by remaining competitive compared with other local clubs offering similar facilities.

Once logged on, go to the Membership page and scroll down to the heading "Memberships" then select your Membership Package by pressing "Join" and follow the instructions including how to pay. Failure to follow this sequence will result in not having access to bookings or court padlock codes.

Following recent government guidance on the further lifting of the lockdown, both courts are now available for play.
Membership is open for renewal and for new members wishing to join the club. Please see the club website for details. clubspark.lta.org.uk/bbhtc
Courts must be booked online. When booking it is now essential that all participants, whether members or guests, are listed by name in the data field provided. This enables us to trace players under the virus test and trace protocol if we are contacted by the NHS.
We ask that:
Players leave the courts promptly at the end of their session and that those arriving to play wait outside the courts, away from the gate until players have left.
All players should observe best practice in terms of hand sanitizing, use of own equipment and respect for other players in and around the courts and that members do not congregate or break social distancing protocols.

Following the recent Government announcement regarding further easing of the lockdown the following will apply from 1st June based on the LTA’s guidelines displayed at the courts:
1. Only one court¹ will continue to be available (Court 1) which must be booked online. https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/bbhtc Bookings will be available up to 7 days ahead
2. Singles and doubles with different households is allowed
3. Maintain social distancing (2m rule) at all times and give those leaving the court plenty of space
4. Players should finish their session promptly
5. Follow public health guidelines for hygiene - bring your own sanitiser for the gate and padlock
6. Only handle your own racket and clean equipment after use
7. Group coaching for up to 6 people permitted (incl. the coach)
8. No extra-curricular or social activity should take place and no spectators
9. Do not play if you are self-isolating

As far as membership fees for the 2020/21 season are concerned and as previously stated, the committee has decided to defer collection until after 30th June. Prorated fees will be displayed on the website once the club can give full access to 2 courts and at this point new membership applications will also be considered together public court hire.

¹ To preserve social distancing given the location of the entrance to both courts being immediately adjacent to court 1 and to avoid having to introduce a buffer period between bookings and staggering court start times. Subject to review when further easing of restrictions allow.
