NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK!!
The football season might have came to a close, but it doesn’t stop for the hardworking club volunteers, We reached out to our clubs and here’s some of the feedback we received about the amazing volunteers at their respective clubs….
“Bill Baker has been involved at Bridgwater United FC for longer than anyone can remember, well into his eighties he is at the ground most days. Always smiling in whatever weather he tidies and cleans after every game. From the dressing rooms to the stands and also helps with general maintenance as well as the pitch. It wouldn’t be the same place without him. Thanks Bill⚽️”
“ Warminster Town FC is proud to recognise the exceptional contribution of Lee Arnott, whose dedication, reliability and commitment to the club are nothing short of outstanding.
Lee gives countless hours throughout the year, often working quietly on his own at the ground, taking on jobs that many never see but every part of the club benefits from. Whether it’s maintenance, repairs, improvements around the facilities or general day‑to‑day tasks, Lee approaches everything with care, pride and a genuine desire to help the club move forward.
One of the most remarkable things about Lee is his willingness to spend his own money on materials without ever making a sound about it. He simply gets on with what needs doing, always putting the club first and never seeking recognition.
Alongside his practical work, Lee also gives a huge amount of time to help manage and co‑ordinate the pitch across the club. His support behind the scenes ensures that managers, coaches and players have what they need, and his steady presence helps keep things running smoothly throughout the season.
Lee embodies the very best of Warminster Town FC loyalty, community spirit, and a genuine love for the club. His contribution is invaluable, and the club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks and appreciation for everything he does”
“Ian is a key member of our loyal management team at Longwell Green Sports F.C and has been at the club for over twenty years. On match days you will see him with his great friend Lee Evans on the gate greeting supporters. At half time you'll fin him in the hospitality room serving and greeting visiting committee members and local officials.
After the match together with other committee members Shaun Athey, Brad Vickerman, and Steve Evans you will find Ian dishing up the after match meal to players and then cleaning up, Then after all this on match days he enjoys a glass or two of Thatchers cider in the bar with the rest of the management team. Added to this on away games Ian can often be found driving the club minibus. At any club function and fund raising event you will find Ian there helping out the club”
Never forget the hard work these guys put in for you and your clubs on a matchday, the unsung heroes of non-league football… well done 👏🏼 👏🏼
