2,000 wild swims is still the most comprehensive directory of wild swimming sites and probably always will be. Sadly Rob Fryer died last year and there is now no one to carry on the task of researching, editing and promoting. If you harbour a secret ambition to become a renown wild swimming author then write to [email protected] and let's work something out.

We have 12 books left. This is the last batch there will be of this unique book. Still the most comprehensive wild swimming guide in the World. If you want one you need to order one asap.

Inspired by Roger Deakin's Waterlog, and encouraged by him personally, Rob first published this wild swimming guidebook privately to members of the Farleigh Hungerford River Swimming Club who, back in 2000, asked Rob to run off a few copies.

The funeral of Rob Fryer is on Thursday 19 October 2023 at 2pm at St Denys Church, Warminster. All wild swimmers who knew Rob are welcome to attend. It is with sadness that we announce the death of the octogenarian legendary wild swimmer Rob Fryer. He passed away peacefully on Monday 25 September 2023. His children, who are all wild swimmers, will continue to publish 2000 Wild Swims in his memory. Funeral details will be announce shortly, please like this post if you would like to attend, all are welcome.

Greenbank Pool in Street. As concrete pools go this is pretty good. Grass and benches to picnic on, a cafe, diving boards, sun and shade. Heated to 30°. £7.50 Run by a Clarks charity.
