AGM & END OF SEASON AWARDS
A huge thank you to everyone for such a wonderful evening last Wednesday as we celebrated the Wessex community in the sunshine (hooray!)
At the AGM we thanked those committee members who were standing down at the end of this season and welcomed on board several new members who will take Wessex forward in September! A handover will be organised across the summer.
And we recognised and celebrated the efforts and progress of all of our players, from our U11s through to our seniors. Despite wind, rain and thunderstorms conspiring against us this season, every player developed hugely in their balls skills, movement and strategy across court.
The players identified by coaches as having grown and developed most as players were:
U11 - Emily D
U14 - Stevie
Seniors - Libby
We also recognised three players who epitomised the Wessex Club Spirit, always showing up on time, giving maximum effort and bringing a positive approach to every session:
U11 - Alice
U14 - Penny Jane
Seniors - Becky
And finally we awarded the Wessex Blades Players' Player, as nominated by the team and this went to Hannah.
A huge congratulations to all of our deserving award winners and well done to everyone for a fantastic year.
We rounded off the evening with match play fun for all, with the addition of some water pistol motivation!
We also said farewell to Club Coach Claire who, after 15 years with Wessex Blades, has moved to Bath with Scarlett. We wish them both all the best for their new netballing adventures! Out last thanks went to Freya, Emilia and Eva for their coaching support this year 🫶
