A little late but here’s our match report from the last game of the season for Swans Ladies, who produced a thrilling battle at Bestwall Road.
However the opposition started strongly and got through the Swans defence in a high scoring first half for the Wiviliscombe Ladies.
But the Swans came out fired up in the 2nd half and the forwards pushed back the visitors with a strong pick and go game and some disruptions at the opposing line outs. The pick and go efforts came out strong with the swans getting over the line!
Another effort was held up by the undeniably resistant Wiveliscombe defence
Huge progress has been made through a tough learning process for Swans Ladies this season and we will come back stronger 💪
The game finished early due to a horrible ankle injury to Wiveliscombe winger Jess Weaver suffered as she scored a try.
Get well soon Jess, we hope you have a speedy recovery 🙏❤️
Massive thank you to departing Head Coach Luke Smith for your support and guidance over the years. We are so sad to see you go but know you’re still be around!
A goodbye as well for our very own Jamie George! Bob has been a member of the ladies team for years and sadly has decided to hang up her boots after a bad injury. Lots of love to you Bob!
BOM Kaitlyn Philips for working well in a position she never wanted to play, being able to take control of the back line, and leading with example.
FOM Vic Taylor. This week Vic was everywhere on the pitch, getting involved in rucks, making tackles and being a dominant forward.
Well done to debut Bethany Cowshall!
