A quieter race event tonight; after all the rain during the day. The track was driving great; with plenty of grip available. We were running on the fresh layout from Sunday which was fast, flowing and fun and liked by many racers.

Richard Miller; after his win at the weekend took TQ and fastest lap of the evening.
Adam Murphy took 4wd TQ and 4wd fastest lap.

The A-final was lead out by Richard from pole. He drove very consistently and took the victory with a 5 second lead. Harrison and Reggie had a battle for the other two podium places. Reggie took second just half a second ahead of Harrison.

In 4wd Adam Murphy took the win with Gareth Brewer in second. Adam was running at 2wd A-final (4th position) pace.

The B-final Paul Mann made a great start jumping into the lead on lap one. Paul and Mike Hoodless then went on to have a great battle throughout the race. Paul took the win with Mike just 0.3 seconds behind. Leon Hedges took third place.

More racing next Tuesday!

A new layout was a breath of fresh air after the tricky and technical one we’ve been using for the last few weeks. It gave way to loads of close, wheel to wheel action in the finals which was great to see.

As always congratulations to all the winners and a massive thank you to everyone who helped make it possible.

We are back on the 27th September for the final round of the series.

On Friday 4th September we’ll be holding a work party to complete a few extra jobs before Sunday. These jobs will require a team of people so we really need all the help we can get to make sure it happens. We’ll be onsite from 7:30pm and look forward to your support.

Like we have done before, anyone who helps out will get free entry to the next meeting they enter.

As usual the track will be closed Saturday so we can complete preparations for Sunday.

The last running of the current layout and it was quite different after all the rain. We also had a very talent rich race entry this evening - just to get in the A tonight was a great achievement.

Richard Miller got TQ this evening while Oscar Keen had the fastest lap. Gareth Brewer got TQ and fastest lap in 4wd.

Oscar Keen managed to overtake Richard Miller on lap 2 only to have a incident 2 laps later. This left Richard out in front and being chased down by Oscar, Mark Keen and Kye Marshall. Oscar got within 3 seconds by the end he couldn’t catch Richard. Richard took the win, Oscar was second and Mark took third place.

The 4wd final was between Gareth Brewer and Ali Keser. Gareth was in front for much of the race until a few errors in the last couple of laps allowed Ali to catch and overtake. Ali was first and Gareth was second.

Brooke Marshall lead off the B-final and was expected to disappear into the distance. An unfortunate mistake on lap 2 however, let Harrison and Peter Robelou through and Nigel Harvie to close up. Brooke overtook Peter pretty quickly and then had a superb battle with Harrison; right up until Harrison made an error. Brooke, at this point created some space and eventually took the win. Harrison was 2nd and Nigel was 3rd.

Wes East, Paul Burt and Fraser Hodgson lead out the C-final and it was a battle between them for the podium places. Paul and Fraser were racing close together for much of the race and had a fun time chasing each other round. Wes made an early error but drove superbly consistent in his recovery drive, getting the fastest lap of the final to get in touch with Paul and Fraser by the end. Back markers allowed Paul to get a gap and he went on to take the win. Fraser had blip on the final lap which was all Wes needed to make the overtake. Wes finished second and Fraser was third.

We are racing this Sunday and then again next Tuesday. To book in for Sunday - see separate post.

Fun racing tonight with some good race battles throughout all the finals.

Marshalling of the evening was Kye Marshall - always attentive and moving to crashes while the crash was still in progress. Super fast and efficiently returning vehicles back to their rubber. Great work!! 🤩

Oscar Keen took TQ and had the fastest lap of the evening. Stephen Lay took 4wd TQ and Gareth Brewer got 4wd TQ.

In the A-final Oscar obliterated the field with a fast consistent pace from pole. He took the win. Richard Miller, Harrison Joyce and Joe Renton had an epic battle throughout the final. Harrison took second with Richard in third just 0.8s behind.

In 4wd Stephen Lay took the win with Gareth Brewer in second.

Nigel Harvie and Brenton Peglar battled for the B-final top spot. Nino Athanasiou, after dropping to the back early on was chasing them down. Nigel remained ahead the whole final to take the victory. Brenton was second and Nino third.

In the C-final Ian Sewell, Steve Tillett and Mark Cotton had a close battle. Halfway through Steve had a gap to the others. He didn’t relinquish his lead and took the victory. Mark secured 2nd spot beating Ian by one tenth of a second.

We are back next Tuesday for more racing.
