Up for debate - what's your thoughts? 🐟

Closed season 🚫

With little time left in the current coarse fishing season, many anglers have again voiced their concerns about why it is no longer fit for purpose 🤬

In recent years, flooding and poor conditions have often disrupted winter fishing, further limiting the time anglers can get out on the water 😮‍💨 Not only that, but this also has a detrimental effect on businesses, such as tackle shops, which rely on anglers being active on the rivers to survive.

Many anglers also point out that they continue to see fish spawning on or after June 16th, raising questions about the logic of prohibiting fishing for three months leading up to this period for spawning purposes 🐟

As anglers are often the first to raise the alarm on pollution incidents 🗣️ it can often give even more free-range to water companies to dump sewage into our rivers completely un-checked 💩

What are your thoughts? Keep it or lose it?
