Wardle Bowling Club was founded in 1950, their Bowling Green being part of the newly created Wardle War Memorial Gardens. Wardle War Memorial Gardens, Bowling Green & Tennis Courts was only made possible with the financial support of both Wardle Urban Council and a Local War Memorial Appeal, to which many businesses and people in and around Wardle had generously contributed. Central Lancs Men’s Bowling League – Wednesday Evenings

Saddleworth League – Saturday Afternoons
Captain – Joe Howarth 1st Game Saturday 11th April

Will all last year’s Team Players please contact their Captain/s asap confirming they still wish to continue playing in that particular team, and that they are available for selection for the 1st game of the season.

If any Club Member wishes to play for any of the above Teams, then please contact the appropriate Team Captain

Last Friday our annual Vet’s 'Trip Out’ took place at the 'Rose N Bowl' in Stacksteads – and once more it was a great day out.... 👍😀👍

We played our usual ‘Pairs’ competition throughout the day for the Frank Horrocks Trophy.

After a fantastic Carvery, the Final then took place. The winners were Steve Barlow and David Hinchliffe, with Runners Up being Malcolm Turner & Martin Marriott.

It is with deep regret that I have to pass on the very sad news that Dave Lockett has passed away.

As many of you are aware, Dave was a long serving member of Wardle Bowling Club and will be sadly missed by all his friends at Wardle

I’m sure you join me in sending our condolences to Marie and family
