Pedro Youth Club’s Annual Showcase featuring the Pedro Boxing Club’s Summer Show took place on Saturday. Traditionally an open-air celebration of young boxing talent - we were blessed with beautiful weather and a wealth of boxing heroes who never fail to turn up to support what is Hackney’s premier community event. Former World, European, Commonwealth and British Champions graced the ring with other famous sport’s professionals. The hero amongst heroes could not be there however - and Elmbridge Sports College wish James Cook MBE all the best.
Our sports organisations may be literally on opposite sides of London, but our kinship with James’ Pedro unites us far beyond friendships that go back over decades. It’s the common values that sport and particularly the boxing fraternity cherish - integrity, hard-work, commitment, honour and loyalty. And at Pedro’s Summer Show this weekend these values were amplified louder than ever with the gathering of those who journeyed alongside Michael Watson (including Pedro’s Chairman Derek Williams) on his Charity Miracle Mile to celebrate his 60th Birthday. So happy BDay Michael and we look forward to celebrating Pedro’s 100th Anniversary in 4years time (2029)

Congratulations to Crystal Palace FC from everyone at the ESC. This most famous of football competitions witnessed a battle between Head Coaches Pep Guardiola and Oliver Glasner. The single winning goal was straight from the Palace playbook and proves that dreams really do come true for Eberechi Eze - whose pathway demonstrates that success is not made overnight.
Well done to Crystal Palace’s team, staff and all their fans who have waited for this history making moment - and we look forward to following your European adventure next season.

Good luck to Adnan Miakhel, as he takes his BTEC Diploma today. He was the unexpected sports talent found through the Freddie Flintoff TV series Field of Dreams.
The ESC wish him well and all he achieves into the future.

Congratulations to Liverpool FC - winning the Premiership in front of their home fans yesterday.
Arne Slot (Head Coach) has led his team to success in his first season in charge at Anfield and the first Dutch Head Coach to win the League. Once again it demonstrates the importance and role that Coaches play following on from Jurgen Klopp - who also assisted in the transition between Head Coaches, which was explained on MOTD2.
Elmbridge Sports College (where the Coaches of the future are being created) congratulate not only the squad on the pitch but also the Team of Coaches off it. Well done….

The latest in the series of special Masterclass Events presented by the ESC at their state of the art sports Campus took place on Thursday evening - where the invited triple line-up of guest speakers (with an unrivalled wealth of knowledge and experience across the Sport Industry) shared their unique stories of a “Life in Sport and Career Pathways” to an audience of prospective students and parents. Describing eventful milestones and inspirational Coaches along the way - each illustrated the critical role played by Sports Coaches and why the ESC’s Education and Professional Pathway Program is so valuable to our students wanting a successful and rewarding career

• Kate Staples (co-founder of Aspire to Greatness with Daley Thompson and multi-record breaking GB Athlete)
• Luke Medley (Professional Development Coach U18/21’s at Crystal Palace FC)
• Tony Gale (ESC Chairman, Sky Sports Presenter and Premiership Champion)

It was a great experience at Southampton v Wolves on Saturday to watch both Head Coaches prepare and inspire their teams at this crucial bottom of the Premiership fixture. The final result [1:2] moves Victor Pereira’s team away from relegation - however, the Coaches, Analysts and Press Zone was a hive of activity as Ivan Juric’s Saints made the outcome uncertain all the way to the final whistle.
At the ESC our integrated Professional Pathway Program places greater emphasis on Students experiencing “real time-real environment” learning as part of their BTEC Level3 Sports Coaching education.
