Two great wins yesterday to secure another 40 point weekend ๐Ÿ

Away from home, the 1s won an important toss and elected to bowl against Farnham. Taylor and Blair started superbly making early inroads and were backed up well with tight spells from Stevens Ja and Barker. Wickets were shared as Farnham were bowled out for 153. With the bat, NCCC resisted some early pressure, particularly against the turning ball, to see through the win by 6 wickets with 11 overs to spare. Opener Mark Pugsley (52*) with an important knock to see the team home with the returning Shukla Ar (27*) looking in good touch.

At home, the 2s also won the toss but elected to bat first. NCCC amassed 274-5 off their 40 overs thanks to a standout innings from opener Rob Lane, who finished on an impressive 152 not out. With the ball, Wolff (1-28) and Herath (2-30) set the tone with wickets in good opening spells. Michael Prince (2-28) also claimed wickets on his return as NCCC closed out the win.

A mixed weekend weather-wise, though managed to get in some games ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

At home, Saturday 1s saw their match abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the weather.

Away from home, the Saturday 2s managed to get a game in away at Ardeley Walkern. Ardeley Walkern made a strong start with the bat with a century opening partnership within the first 12 overs. NCCC managed to fight back, restricting the oppo to 191-9 off their 25 overs, skipper Rivers J taking 2-18. With the bat, NCCC never got going in wet conditions finishing up on 92-7 off their 25 overs. 6 points for the 2s, which is slightly more than a pre-game abandonment.

On Sunday, we hosted an Open Day and welcomed Wanstead in the afternoon. The Sun XI batted first and started well with both openers (Bevan and Pugsley M) retiring after reaching half-centuries. Wanstead fought back as NCCC finished on 169-5. With the ball, NCCC opened up well with wickets for Rivers J, Eke R and Burns though Wanstead managed to keep up with the rate knocking off the runs in the final over to round off an enjoyable game and day.

However, Walker S (30*) and Barker (8*) put on a fantastic final wicket partnership of 54 to see the side home to retains the 1sโ€™ unbeaten start to the league.

Away from home, the Saturday 2s batted first though consistently lost wickets. Chasing 114 to win, Albury made a bright start to break the back of the chase to win by 6 wickets. A good spell from Shukla An (3-22) helped to secure a couple of bowling points for NCCC.
