⚽ Match Report | North Tyne & Westholme FC 2–3 Cullercoats FC
After another frustrating result last time out, the lads came into today’s game determined to put things right. There was a great mood around the squad from the off, and the boys got stuck into the warm-up with plenty of energy.
And what a performance it was.
Honestly, this was one of our best performances of the season, aside from those opening two games. The lads were talking, passing and moving the ball far better, and there was a real togetherness and intensity to the way we played.
We went into half-time 2–1 up, with goals from Connor Fantozzi and Jordan Horner, and deserved to be in front.
The second half proved a real test. The strong wind that we hoped might ease off instead continued throughout the game, making it difficult to defend against and, at times, even harder to get ourselves up the pitch.
Cullercoats played some good football and managed to turn the game around, with the final score finishing 3–2 to Cullercoats.
The result might not have gone our way, but there was plenty to be proud of in today’s performance. The lads showed the quality, communication and desire that we know is in this team. 💙
