A fantastic Level 1 Umpiring course held at the club today!
Well done to our 13 new umpires who started their umpiring journey today with a full days course including both theory and practical - thank you for committing your time to the club both today and the future.

The umpires will now progress through our bespoke Umpire Mentoring Support Programme, gaining experience and guidance to build their knowledge.
Our course was led by Will and Hatty from the England Hockey Officiating team - thank you both!

A last HUGE thank you to those players that volunteered their time to come and play matches so the new umpires could practice - absolutely invaluable to be able to practice while learning on the course.

Wallingford Women Head Coach

Wallingford Hockey Club is looking for a Head Coach to lead the training of our Women's 1st and 2nd teams and potentially accompany our Women's 1st team to matches. We are a club based in South Oxfordshire with more than 550 members including 5 Men’s teams, 6 Women's teams and a large Junior section.

The Women’s 1st team play in South Central Division 1 North league and have finished top 5 in the last three seasons. The Women’s section is a friendly and committed group, talented and passionate about their hockey, with a great mix of younger talent and experienced players.

We are looking for a Head Coach to further enhance our players’ abilities as well as team performance. This position is ideal for an experienced coach looking to lead a large and ambitious club. The coach will work alongside the other coaches in the club to make sure the player pathway is clear and consistent.

36 hockey players descended on Hadden Hill Golf Club for the annual WHC Golf Day.

The morning began with longest drive with a hockey stick, with winners Matt Lock, John Rees and Helen Barber taking home the prizes.

The Texas scramble was split across a men’s comp off the first tee and a mixed comp off the 10th. Dickie Hawson, Mike Latham, JP and Charlie Lester won the men’s comp with Damian Tyler, Kev Shaw, Fon Leigh and Heather Merryweather winning the mixed.

In the post lunch round JP picked up closest to the pin in 2, Adam Mills won nearest the pin and Dave Illingworth and Carol Rees won longest drives.

The team prize went to Colin Merryweather, Damian Tyler, John Rees and Dave Illingworth with a score 90 points.

In third individually was Charlie Allen on Countback with 37 points, last years champ Dan Richardson had to settle for second this year with 38 points whilst Nigel Eady became the WHC champion golfer of the year with 39 points on debut!

A huge thanks to l for hosting a cracking day (thanks Andy!) and well done to all our winners!
