Here's a look at the live table from the Oxford City Flooring Winter League after 4 games have been played this week. A reminder that Division One teams will have finished when they have played 27 games, Division Two teams will finish after 26.
Highlights so far include a superb 9-1 victory for Splitz and Giggles from Fairmile Sports & Social Club, Morning Star, Cholsey over Living on a Spare last night, which all but guarantees they will now avoid relegation. Best Sellers and Alsorts will be scrapping it out to avoid the "dreaded red" of 10th place.
Sianie's Angels played well above their average pin-count to take 4 points from second-place Spare Ribs. The Angels are probably now safe from winning the wooden spoon in their first-ever season of skittles. Spare Ribs needed more than the 6 points, though. With their campaign now ended there's only 2 points between the Ribs and the Rollin' Pins, who still have one game to play. Pins face Newcomers live here on Thursday night - surely they'll be celebrating joining the Cross Keys in being promoted?
At the top of Division One, the Lads haven't quite mathematically got there yet, but short of some totally bizarre scorelines from them and from the chasing pack they will be raising the trophy and defending their league title.
As to who will take the silver and bronze positions, it's still ridiculously close. Only Living on a Spare can't climb any more places. Everyone else has one or two more games to go, and rookies Absolutely Skittled will fancy taking some points from the Last Six tomorrow night to try and leapfrog the Gutter Nutters, despite the latter's 7 point haul from their game against Best Sellers on Monday this week.
