Today it's the bi-annual Brompton service and safety check at an Oxford business park. The 4000 employees are allowed to borrow them for free to get around the site, so we need to make sure they're working perfectly and are safe to use.
There are also a few customers collecting some of my lovely refurbished lightweight bikes for their children and hopefully some part exchanges arriving too.
I'm desperately in need of more stock to refurbish, so if you have a garage full of Frog Squish or Islabikes that are too small for your children please get in touch to trade them in for bigger ones, or I'm happy to just buy them too.❤️🚲.

The Colleges are all busy with graduations🎓 this week, so I very unusually had a little time to get out mobile to a few customers houses who've been very patiently waiting for any schedule gaps that appear. My diary is full for months ahead, this is very very rare, but it made a nice change to be moving around and catching up with some lovely people. ❤️🚲.

I can't show you many 20" wheel bikes today as I've just about sold out in the last few days (thank you🙏), so today we've got some 16" wheel bikes out for some customers to come and view. These are aimed at ages 4-5 years old , with an inside leg of 46cm ( apart from the yellow Tour de France Frog 44 which will accommodate a 40cm inside leg). They're all professionally serviced,polished, any parts that needed changing have been changed, and they're ready for summer adventures. A red Frog 48 has just left the line to go to a new home but more will be added to my Facebook Marketplace listings later, including a green Frog48. Lots of fresh stock coming through the workshop this week to join what's already available. Stock is changing daily with lots of bikes heading off to happy new owners, and lots of part exchanges coming in for me to refresh and list.
Almost every part exchange in the last couple of weeks has been a bike I'd previously sold the customer coming back to be exchanged for a bigger one, I LOVE❤️ that. ❤️🚲.

Surrounded already and it's only 9am.

Here at Southern-cycles we (I) refurbish/ recycle around 600 bicycles a year. Many have ended up in a low cost sustainable student rental system, and many get sold directly to students, and bought back when they finish college.
I'm always on the lookout for bicycles to recycle/ up cycle ♻️ and am very grateful for the surplus bikes that you bring to me. Nobody likes seeing bikes going to landfill, and every new bike manufactured creates over 100kgs of carbon emissions + and often a trip half way around the world on a boat. Luckily the colleges are onboard and let me remove, refresh and return their surplus bikes ready for the new student intake every year. ❤️🚲.

A little moment of peace before the madness begins. It's five years now that I've been looking after the bikes of the 4000 employees on this business park, and a rack full of loan bikes they can borrow. It's a lovely, vibrant, positive place to work, and the supplied coffee, breakfast and lunch is the icing on the cake 😁. ❤️🚲.

A spotlight on the Islabikes Cnoc16 today. They're suitable for a four to six year old child or an inside leg of 42-52cm approx. I seem to have had a lot bought in as part exchanges this week, many of which I've looked after and sold previously. If you've got 10 children the same size please pop round 😁. Some have lived at Nanny's house, or Mum and Dad have different houses both with bikes at them, either way some are very little used and in fantastic condition. Prices once they're all checked over, serviced, re-cabled and polished will range from around £170-£210 depending on condition. New ones are currently £449 and only available in teal.
I love to see them back again once you've finished with them and need a bigger size, and I try my hardest to give you a fair part exchange value back for them.
There are also a couple of Frog 48(16"wheels)and Squish 16 ready and available to tryout for size.

Happy birthday to us 🎉.
We're now entering our seventh year of serving the local community by offering you all a sustainable method of purchasing premium children's bicycles and returning them when you need the next size up.
Thank you all for your continued custom.
Bikes are heading off daily to excited children from all corners of the country and even heading abroad to Poland.
An extra special thanks to my returning customers, and often their families, friends and neighbours who've seen the lovely bikes they've purchased and bought some too.
All of our bikes are serviced/ refurbished on site by me, a Cytech level 3 Master Technician, I'm not a broker or franchise selling other people's bikes and taking a commission or calling my bikes 'serviced' when nobody with any cycle industry recognised qualifications has been anywhere near them, so you can be sure they're safe and 100% ready to ride.
With over 50 bikes a month going out stock is changing daily so keep an eye on my listings on Facebook Marketplace (search for Nick Southern). I don't have the time or feel the need for any fancy websites or advertising as I have more than enough to do making sure the bikes are fabulous and dealing with the returning purchasers.❤️🚲.
