The team excelled themselves in the group stages, finishing 2nd on the leader board against a very tough group of top tier teams. A narrow defeat in the Semi’s concluded the tournament for them, but Coach Paddy said they smashed the tournament and he couldn’t be prouder of their performance on the day. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

What a fantastic day for the Cheshire Vikings Raiders U8s at Tranmere Rovers’ famous Prenton Park stadium!
The excitement started from the moment the boys arrived, with the tunnel walk being a huge highlight for the team. Walking out where the professionals play was an experience the kids will never forget.
Drawn in a very tough Group C alongside two Division 1 teams, the squad showed incredible determination, teamwork and character throughout the tournament. The Raiders finished the group stage with:

❌ 1 Loss
That was enough to secure an impressive 2nd place finish and qualification for the Europa League semi-final.
In the semi-final, the team came up against another strong Division 1 side and narrowly lost 1-0 in a brilliant, hard-fought game. Every single player gave absolutely everything and should be incredibly proud of themselves.
To compete against - and beat - higher ability teams shows just how far this group has come. The teamwork, effort, attitude and support for each other throughout the day were outstanding.
