Sharlston is an old mining village situated between the rugby strongholds of Wakefield, Castleford and Featherstone, West Yorkshire. Rugby has been played on the same piece of land for well over 100 years. The ground was famously (or infamously) known for miles around as “Back o’t Wall”. Sharlston were founded around 1881, where results have been found, although no exact formation date can be found. In 2011 they acheived their life long ambition of winning the BARLA National Cup

The Rovers came out on top in blustery conditions in what was a very tight first 30 mins but 4 tries in last 10 mins saw Sharlston take control of the game and build on that in the 2nd half!
