PRESTON WAKEFIELD JUNIORS🎣

Last week was squad t-shirts and new hats day. We have had these a couple of months but before they went to the printers we were waiting for a local Tackle shop sponsor but unfortunately this fell through at the last hurdle.
Some of the juniors have also received their first batch of groundbait and a new Sonubaits bucket where the others will get theirs this week.
Everyone involved would like to say a huge thanks to of and of for their continued support and their belief in us, it means so much to all the kids and they really look a team in their new kit, thanks to both🎣👏🎣
Also thanks to Stephen Rhodes for sorting the printing out, thank you🎣

Hopefully the kit will stand out on the bank this week on the CRT Let’s Fish match on the Shropshire Union Canal with over 500 kids taking part🎣

PRESTON WAKEFIELD JUNIORS🎣

Saturdays junior match on the Air & Calder canal behind Howarth Timber proved to be an absolute grueller with half the kids going home not even having a bite, very strange🤔
Best weight on the day was Cadet star Alfie Wain from the end peg. He had a large bush that had fallen down across the canal and this allowed him to fish right over to it where he kept catching the odd Perch from underneath and a solitary Roach to finish with 3-13.
Best of the Juniors was Amelia Storey with 1-10. She had two small Perch and a big Eel which see caught on a worm fishing just a topkit. After that it was either two Perch or a single one for those who were lucky enough to catch.

We had a few of our juniors on the Calder & Hebble Canal today having a practice for some upcoming canal matches…

Approach was to fish pinkies & squats over ground-bait loose feeding over the top. We did an hour on the 3m line then went out to around 8-10m

It’s fished hard in the shallow pegs close to the bridge however after a large latte inform Josh Latte Laker Angling emptied it with a good 10lb of roach.

Amelia & Isla both struggled to get anything going from the area which is usually full of smaller roach but thats fishing 🐟🎣😁

It’s great to see these 3 out practicing together 💙
