Tonight our newly formed U8 Panthers travelled away to play Alverthorpe Reds.
What a great game between two teams who gave everything from start to finish. The Panthers players did Manager Rick proud tonight, and he couldn’t have been happier with how brave they were on the ball and how competitive they were when working to win it back.
Stanley’s Manager’s Player of the Match award went to Jaxon for some fantastic dribbling, excellent tackles, and a brilliant all-round performance. 👏
Well done to all the Panthers players, coaches, and parents who helped make this happen.
A big thank you to Alverthorpe Reds for hosting the Panthers and providing a great game played in the right spirit.
Football was the real winner tonight. ⚽👏🧡🖤

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR FOOTBALL IN STANLEY! 🚨

We are delighted to announce an exciting new chapter for football in our village!

Stanley United Juniors have continued to grow from strength to strength, providing opportunities for children from Mini Football (age 4+) right through to Under 18s.

Over the past year, we've also proudly launched our Girls Section, creating a clear pathway into our Ladies Open Age team.

Alongside this, Travs Stanley FC currently runs two successful Sunday Open Age teams (First Team & Reserves), while Stanley AFC operates an Open Age Saturday side.

Following positive discussions between Stanley United Juniors Chairman Toffee, Club Secretary Marie, and representatives from Stanley AFC and Travs Stanley FC, we are thrilled to confirm that we will be forming a new footballing association together.

Words from Toffee:
"As a junior club, we are growing massively. Since launching our Minis last year, we've continued to expand across all age groups, introduced our Ladies Open Age team, and now have junior teams playing on both Saturdays and Sundays.

With the continued development of our Girls Section and the pathway into women's football already established, we wanted to create the same opportunities for our boys. This association is fantastic news as it now gives our junior players clear progression routes into Open Age football on Saturdays, Sundays, or even both."

From Stanley AFC and Travs Stanley FC:
"This is a huge positive for the future of football in Stanley. Knowing there is a strong pathway for young, talented players to progress through the ranks gives us great confidence for years to come."

They debut outtting in they new club kit .

U7 end of season 2025-26 presentation day yesterday.
Well done to all players in there debut season and the coaches .
Massive thank you to sam who manage the team but now hands it over as he going back to mini to coach his sons u6.
New things for this age group ready for u8 sept season start . Numbers of interest grown & for 2026/27 season will have x2 sqauds , tigers & Panthers with new managers.

Hey all,

2026 GALA COMPLETED 💯❤️💯💥👌

What a fantastic day today!

For 5 years, I’ve organised my own age-group gala because the club didn’t run one. As a coach, I always put together my own event. But this year, in my first season as Club Chair, there was no way it could just be my own age gala—it had to be a Stanley club gala.

We had U7s, U10 , U12s x2 cups, and our Mini Tigers all taking part in games . Every single player put in a brilliant effort and did the club proud.

A massive thank you to all the parent volunteers who got stuck in and helped make the day such a success. Your hard work and support were outstanding.

We welcomed 40 teams and over 400 players throughout the day. The feedback was incredible, as always. At the medal presentations, coach after coach came up to me and said, “Toffee, this is the best gala ever.” One of the best comments was simply, “Pure class.”

I may have organised the event, but it’s the Stanley parent volunteers who truly made it what it was. The teamwork, commitment, and support shown today were exceptional.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making today such a memorable occasion. Most of all, I’m incredibly proud to have such amazing parents and families involved in our club.

This is why i state , We are the club of the future!!

mportant Information for Residents of Stanley

Hello to all local residents, particularly those living near Ferry Lane.

On Saturday, 6th June, Stanley United Juniors will be hosting our annual Junior Football Gala, running from 8:00am through to late afternoon.

With over 40 teams attending, we are expecting increased traffic in the Ferry Lane area throughout the day. To help minimise disruption, all event parking will be directed onto the football fields, accessed via the gate near the green container.

We will also be placing cones along the roadside to discourage on-street parking and help keep Ferry Lane as clear and safe as possible for residents and visitors.

We appreciate that there will be more vehicles than usual in the area and would like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for hundreds of young players to enjoy a great day of football, teamwork, and community spirit.
