⚽️RESULT⚽️

Another poor performance yesterday as we lost 6-3 to Flatt Top on a 9-a-side pitch.

Errors throughout the game cost us, and we repeatedly gifted goals to our hosts.

Luke Foley and Ty Williams scored in the first half, while Reece Chadwick continued his strong goalscoring start to the season in the second.

*Match Report * U13 stripes

Crofton Juniors - 3
Tingley Stripes - 6

There was no league game this week, as the girls had a drawn Crofton, away, in the second round of the plate.

The start of the first half saw a slightly sleepy Tingley, lacking that little bit of powerful bulishness that they have shown in recent weeks. The opposition taking the lead with a goal early on. 1-0.
A great chip over the keeper by Liv levelled the score, with defenders bearing down on her and the keeper to beat. 1-1.
A lack of urgency in the box as the opposition attacked led to the ball not being cleared and the Crofton taking advantage of the situation. 2-1.
At this point, the girls woke up fully. Now, pressing and working for each other with comms. Niamh put the pressure on. Won the ball back in the Crofton half. An immediate ball through to Liv who dutifully dispatched the ball into the back of the net. 2-2.
Another great finish from Liv gave the team their 3rd goal and Liv's hat-trick before half time.
2-3 at half time.

The second half gave the opportunity for the Stripes to extend their lead. The team was now playing fast-moving football and in places one touch football that stretched the Crofton defence. Liv got the opportunity to score her fourth goal, which she didn't let slip. Another wonderful, calm finish. 2-4.
The girls were breaking forwards down the wing constantly and getting crosses into the box. This stretched the defence and goalkeeper. On one occasion, great running from Laila , saw her link onto a cross, smashing it into the net. 2-5.
The opposition really tried to get back into the game. This just wasn't one way football. One attack saw them drag a goal back with a looping finish into the far corner of the goal. 3-5.
Another Tingley breakaway down the wing saw a great throughball played in with Niamh and Laila perfectly staying on side. The ball was controlled by Laila, which she slotted inch perfectly into the side of the goal by the far post, Niamh perfectly placed if it rebounded off the post but the assist was not needed on this occasion.

Final Score.
Crofton - 3
Tingley - 6.

Tingley Tigers u11s travelled to Div 1 Bradford City in the Cup. The girls were excited about playing a higher division team and they came out at kick off all guns blazing!!. The 1st half was evenly balanced, with the Tingley girls winning key battles in midfield, some solid defending and 3-4 great saves from Iris. We were fearless going foward with high energy from our attackers. We constantly chased down the ball and were very strong in the tackle. We were competitive throughout and the high energy and effort was clear to see. Bradford just edged the final result, but the girls came off with smiles on their faces and enjoyed their morning of football. Opposition POM - Floss. Parents POM - Violet. Coaches POM - Delilah 💚💚

U15 girls black squad V Monk Fryston -under 15’s plate

A very busy game with both teams having 11 players and no subs
And evenly matched
Both sides had equal opportunity at the goal. The goalies were certainly doing their jobs today and unfortunately Tingey just couldn’t quite hit the target despite efforts from Ava and Lola, several times the Ball was just a few inches off very frustrating for the girls and spectators

By the end of the second half, it was Nil nil and everyone was feeling it - onto penalties!
Very tense as nobody likes penalties
Ava, Isla, Maya and Alicia managed to hit the target with the opposition only managing two goals
So a win to Tingley Blacks! Well done

Coaches POTM went to sky in goal for keeping us in the game and Eva for tremendous defending and some lovely first touches
The referee nominated Sky as her player of the match
And the parents and spectators also voted for Sky with nominations for Ava, Rowan, Maya, Joban and Matt the coach! 🤣 who ran his line beautifully🤣

Next week the girls are at home playing Ossett in a league match

Tingley U14s vs Ossett U15s – Friendly

A friendly against Ossett U15s, a year above, which provided a great test for the Tingley team ahead of their upcoming league games.

Starting XI

GK: Bea

Defence: Lydia, Edan, Ava, Erin

Midfield: Annabel, Charlize, Ariana, Millie

Attack: Katie, Arienne

Subs: Jasmine, Zara

⚽ 1-0 Tingley! A great finish from debutant Ariana to open the scoring.

⚽ 2-0 Tingley! Great build-up play from Ariana, passing to Charlize, who dribbles past two players before firing into the top corner. A brilliant goal!

⚽ 2-1 Ossett. A wonder goal from outside the box, an unstoppable strike to get the visitors back in the game.

🧤 A great save from Bea, tipping the ball over the bar to keep Tingley in front.

⚽ 2-2 Ossett. Another wonderful finish brings the scores level at half-time.

Half-time: 2-2

⚽ 3-2 Ossett. A breakaway goal puts the opposition ahead for the first time.

⚽ 3-3 Tingley! Strong work down the right from Zara, with the ball falling to Ariana, who finishes brilliantly to level the scores.

⚽ 4-3 Ossett. A quick response from the visitors, with their striker running straight through the middle to restore their lead.

⚽ 5-3 Ossett. Another excellent long-range effort extends the visitors’ advantage.

The final 20 minutes saw both teams battling hard in a competitive game, with Ossett taking the win 5-3.

A tough outing for Tingley against a side a year older, but a valuable test that should stand the team in good stead for the upcoming league fixtures.

Sunday was a sunny autumnal morning as Tingley Athletic U8s travelled to face Farsley Celtic in a repeat of last seasons league Cup final.

Tingley started the match well, with Maximus breaking away on the counter attack A lovely turn from Jax on the wing allowed Maximus to grab the ball again

Farsley tried to get back into the game but a
Couple of lovely saves with the feet from max , Another strong set of hands from Max denied a long Farsley shot and Jenson at the back with some important interceptions helped keep the clean sheet at the 10minute point. Both sides used the 10minute mark to make some changes which did change the dynamic of the game, with Farsley enjoying increased possession and putting the visitors under more pressure. A couple of good saves from Ralph in goal from some strong long shots, kept Farsley out, but the pressure soon got the better of Tingley.

Some early pressure and more great dribbling from both Elian and Jax, saw Tingley win a freekick on the edge of the box. A routine straight from the training ground saw Jax play short to Maximus

Farsley goalkeeper made a great save from a long shot which deflected wickedly off Jax. At the other end a goalmouth scramble, saw two great saves from Elian, followed by a big block from Ralph to deny Farsley

after some great closing down out wide from Max, which allowed Maximus to intercept

Maximus kept attacking & after some great work from Eli out wide, forcing a mistake from the Farsley defence. Jenson once again making some important interceptions.

Eli was a constant threat to the Farsley back line, always managing to find space at the back post, but Tingley were, too often, unable to find him to take advantage.
all in all a very exciting match throughout and A fantastic display from the Tingley players and a great result Maximus was awarded the PotM after an amazing performance
