Amazing results from the para hockey World Cup! England Hockey ID team have played their final placing match at the Wagner stadium this morning. They’ve won the challenger cup which is effectively top of 2nd division 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. Stella performances from Rob and Tom throughout the tournament.

Poppy McDermott is running the Great North Run for a charity close to her heart. Another great example of the hockey community. Good luck Poppy 💚🏑

“I’m fundraising in memory of Amy Hughes, Pam and Norman Hughes’ daughter. I’ll be running the Great North Run next month to support the Battens Disease family association. Amy was a friend and neighbour to my mum and I was introduced to hockey at Wakefield by Pam and Norman when I was a child. I hope to give something back to them by doing this.”

U8s and Mugaroos – Sundays, 9–10am
Junior goalkeeping coach – times to be arranged
Junior lead coach – leading coaching and player development across the junior section

Congratulations to Rob Crosse and Thomas Shaw for their selection for the England squad at the first FIH Para Hockey World Cup next month. The Para Hockey World Cup is the culmination of our very own Norman Hughes passion and determination to provide world class opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Played alongside the World Cup in Belgium and Holland next month the England team is in pool B and will face India Argentina, Malaysia, Chile Bulgaria, Spain and the Netherlands in Amsterdam. Rob and Tom head out to Holland on August 18th alongside Lochlann Kaye, England Coach, Jayne Crosse, England Team Manager and Helen Royan who will be one of the technical officials.

Please join us in wishing the team good luck We’re very proud of you all stepping onto the world stage representing your country and your club. 🏆🏑💚
