💚🏏 HODGY AND PADDY STEAL THE SHOW AT THE END-OF-SEASON PARTY! 🏏💚

The drama of the 2nd XI’s victory carried straight into the end-of-season celebrations, with everyone in party mode!

With an ’80s/’90s theme in full swing, Pat Sharp, the Backstreet Boys, Kevin and Perry, John McEnroe, Liam and Noel, and the Karate Kid all paid a visit to Town Street. 🎉

Club legend and “retiring again” Michael Hodgkins stole the show, with his Notorious B.I.G. outfit earning him the title of best dressed. 👏

Young Patrick Forbes also made his karaoke debut, absolutely smashing it and getting everyone up and dancing on the tables! 🎤🕺

It was a fantastic night all round, with seniors, juniors and members of our new women’s team all enjoying a brilliant evening together.

A perfect way to celebrate the end of another memorable season! 💚🏏🎉

💚🏏 WHAT A WAY TO FINISH THE SEASON! 🏏💚

The 2nd XI have finished the season in 4th place after a dramatic victory over East Leeds that looked anything but likely at one stage!

East Leeds were bowled out for 168, with Joseph Howden leading the way with 3-23 and Nick Busby taking 2-15. Logan Saxton, Josh Bennett, Tom Ward and Michael Hodgkins also picked up wickets as the Carlton bowlers kept the pressure on. 👏🏏

But the run chase was anything but straightforward. With Carlton eight wickets down and everything looking lost, it was time for the experienced heads of Tom Ward and Les Goff to step up.

Playing his final game for Carlton, Les produced a truly memorable finish, scoring a career-best 35 not out as he and Tom put together a crucial 48-run partnership to take the lads over the line! 💚

Tom finished unbeaten alongside him with 22, as the 2nd XI secured a fantastic victory and, in doing so, claimed a 4th-place finish.

What a way to end another brilliant season for the 2nd XI — and what a way for Les to bow out! 👏💚🏏

💚🏏 FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON AT TOWN STREET! 🏏💚

Town Street hosts the final game of the season tomorrow as the 2nd XI welcome East Leeds.

After a fantastic first season as captain, Kian Wade will be hoping the lads can finish strongly and secure a top-four spot. 👏

It’s been another brilliant year for the club, with several of our juniors establishing themselves as regulars and making a real impact in senior cricket.

Tomorrow will also see us say a fond farewell — for now — to Michael Hodgkins, who is retiring (again!), and Les Goff, who is taking a sabbatical. 💚

💚🏏 THANK YOU, AQIB! 🏏💚

As the First XI season came to an end yesterday, we said thank you and farewell to our overseas player Aqib Shah.

Across the last two seasons, Aqib has been a huge part of the club, scoring an incredible 2,024 runs in all competitions at an average of 47.07.

Aqib has been the complete professional the club needed as we took our first steps into the Premier League, playing a massive part in helping us secure our status once again this season. This year alone, he scored two centuries and three 50s. 👏🏏

After yesterday’s game, we presented Aqib with a small token of our appreciation and we wish him a safe journey home. 🇵🇰💚

A big thank you also to Sakiba, who provided some traditional Pakistani food for everyone after the game yesterday. It was absolutely delicious! 🇵🇰🍛

Thank you for everything, Aqib. You’ll always be welcome at Town Street! 💚🏏

Girls from all junior age groups and all clubs are welcome to take part. Teams will be split based on age and experience to ensure a fun, friendly and enjoyable evening for everyone involved.
