Sarah’s Testimonial

“Marc is one of the kindest and most holistic coaches I’ve ever known.

One of the few who doesn’t ascribe to the “we all have the same 24 hours” mentality, who doesn’t punish clients for making ‘excuses’ and actually listens.

Marc became a friend, he would phone me to check in about my mental health and workload, not just my weight and exercise.

When I signed on with Marc, he actually listened, he understood that I had a list of health conditions, a full-time job in a stressful field, 3 kids etc. and I was struggling (and drowning) and he didn’t pressure once, but guided me.

I listened, and got an education from Marc, and, even though I had to stop working with Marc directly due to my own personal financial circumstances, I took everything he told me, every mantra and conversation, and am currently only a few pounds off my ultimate weight loss goal (in the realms of 4 stone).

I couldn’t have done this without Marc and I couldn’t recommend his coaching more!

Thanks Marc!”

What People THINK PT Sessions Are: ⬇️

“Give me 20 burpees.”
“2 more reps.”
“Have you hit your protein target?”

And yes… sometimes we do talk about sets, reps and nutrition.

But over the last couple of weeks, our conversations have also included:

✔️ Helping Caroline build a to-do list to help prioritise the things in everyday life.

✔️ Talking to Yogi about house extensions, upcoming weddings and how to keep some structure when life gets busy.

✔️ Helping new client Wes navigate social events while still making progress.

🤫 Keeping Helen’s recent DEKA achievement a complete secret so her partner didn’t find out.

❤️ Celebrating Sherrile and reflecting on how far she’s come, doing things she genuinely never thought she’d be capable of a year ago.

🎈 Richard dealing with business conversations, kids’ birthday parties… and random a child that turned up who definitely wasn’t invited.

👦🏼 Talking to Claire about house chores the kids don’t do it eventually do with plenty of moaning

🍕 Reminding Chappers that eating more food is actually okay… and that pizza can still have a place in life.

💭 Having deep conversations with Nadine about how the words people choose can affect people differently and how to flip negatives into positives.

🍷 Listening to Sue’s latest holiday stories, usually involving wine and her living her absolute best life.

Personal training isn’t about being shouted at by a drill sergeant or being run into the ground.

It’s support.
It’s accountability.
It’s perspective.
It’s celebrating the wins.
It’s navigating the hard bits.
It’s also about having a bloody good laugh too.

And somewhere in between all of that, we squeeze in a solid workout too 😉💪🏼

That’s what coaching for me is all about.

Leeds 10km PB 💪🏼

When the majority of my time is spent looking after my family and my clients, sometimes it’s nice to be just a little bit selfish and just do something for me!

Today it’s was just me, myself and I - heading into Leeds to run the Leeds 10km with just my headphones and a bottle of water.

No expectations other than to finish the course in sub 55 minutes (Ponte 10km Time)

My Strava time was 51m 38s and my chip time was 51m 35s which meant both of these were actually my fastest ever time for a 10km run. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Never in a million years did I ever think I’d enjoy running or even start to be a little bit good at it.

Especially as I was the short, little fat kid at school that used to out of breath after just half a lap of the athletics track in PE.

Next target had got to be to get down to a sub 50 minute 10km and surely a half marathon is on the cards now 😂👀

Now it’s time to put my feet up as Sundays steps are also ✅

Wakey 5km ✅

This morning myself, Amrik, Claire and Sherrile completed the Race For Life Wakefield 5km.

So proud of all 3 of these guys today as this was the…..

First 5km race that Sherrile has ever done!

First 5km race that Claire has done for a very long time.

And Amrik ran this 5km quicker than the last Wakey 5km and this one was tougher!

Great effort guys, proud of you all! 🫶🏻

The Sad Step!! 😢

Or weighing scales can be a useful tool, but they only measure your total body weight and don’t ever give you the full story as to how much progress you’ve actually made!

They don’t show improvements in your fitness, confidence, energy, strength, habits, or overall quality of life.

Below are many forms of progress that the scales DON’T actually show you! 😉

✅ You’ve lost body fat.
A better indicator of body composition and health than weight alone.

✅ Your clothes fit better.
A clear sign that your body shape is changing, even if the scales don’t move.

✅ You’re more confident in yourself.
Feeling good about yourself impacts every area of your life.

✅ You have better energy levels.
More energy means better productivity, mood, and daily performance.

✅ You find exercise easier.
Your body is becoming fitter and more capable.

✅ You enjoy training.
When you enjoy the process, consistency becomes much easier.

✅ Your relationship with family and friends is better.
Better health often leads to improved mood, patience, and social connection.

✅ You enjoy eating better.
Healthy eating becomes a lifestyle rather than a restriction.

✅ You can go out and reset better.
You no longer let one meal or one night derail your progress.

✅ You’re stronger and have better shape.
Strength, muscle, and body composition matter more than scale weight.

✅ You have better health markers.
Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and overall health are improving.

✅ Your fitness levels have improved.
You’re able to do more, recover faster, and perform better.

✅ You’ve built better habits and consistency.
The habits you build are what create long-term success.

These are all huge wins that really matter.

Remember, the number on the scales only tells part of the story.

So don’t lose sight of this the next time you jump on them and that number has jumped up!
