MBD is also a platform for all dance lovers, from beginners to professionals, to gain inspiration and useful information on how to embrace a healthier & more active lifestyle. MBD was founded by Lisa Stephens. Lisa has over 15 years experience in the dance industry as both a profe

ssional performer and teacher/choreographer. Although predominantly trained in classical ballet, she is versatile dancer having trained and worked with companies and dance schools around the world covering a variety of styles including Ballet, Jazz, Flamenco, Musical Theatre, Street, Latin, Contemporary, Tap and Pas De Deux. Lisa has worked as a dancer, soloist, choreographer and producer in over 30 countries in Europe, America, South America, Asia and Africa in a variety of prestigious productions in theatres and commercially. She was trained at the Urdang Dance Academy, London and the Northern Ballet School, Manchester, where she gained a National Diploma in Professional Dance and Choreography and RAD and ISTD classical ballet and modern theatre major examinations up to Advanced. Lisa has been teaching both syllabus and free dance and fitness classes to all levels and age groups, from all walks of life, at many dance and academic schools, leisure centres and private organisations for over a decade.

GENTLE EXERCISE CLASS...
Totally inclusive for ANYONE of ANY AGE AND ABILITY.

This class started a few weeks ago and is going well..I still have some spaces available.

Wednesdays. Wadebridge. Old Ambulance Hall. 10.40am

A kind and mindful movement class for anyone who needs this. Ideal for less mobile or injured/rehabilitating.l or just getting back into fitness.

It will be a gentle movement class that focuses on mobilising joints, strengthening postural muscles and releasing tension and pain. It will also be uplifting and sociable 😍

“Sthira Sukham Asanam" is how Patanjali  suggests yoga should be practiced. Sthira translates as strong, steady, and stable. Sukha means comfortable, happy, and relaxed.  We should strive to practice yoga with strength but in a relaxed manner. 

One of the hardest (yet most transformational) concepts of yoga is the contrast we can achieve in and out of the body. We learn to experience our strength and steadiness whilst simultaneously feeling a sense of peace. Finding a balance of effort and ease can be (and should be) utilised on and off the mat. This workshop is about exploring your physical and mental strength (your warrior)  using some basic and more challenging asanas, alongside  the gentle soothing ease of the breath and mind (your calm).

If you'd like one of the limited places, then do book in and then come as you are, bring a mat and feel the benefits 😀

Date & time: Sunday 19th September 10am - midday
Price £20/pp

Location: The Point at Polzeath

Ok hear me out.
Obviously there are moments when this is not the case, but...
This is a good reminder on days when we want to meditate but have zero time/allowance due to little-people-duties. Meditation doesnt have to be performed in lotus pose in a salt-lamp lit room with nature sounds and no distractions. It's worth remembering that the benefits of meditating are achieved when giving the thinking mind a break and being fully present. Therefore, as the text says:
"Being with children can be like meditating"
