It was weird waking up on a Sunday with no cricket photos to edit!

What a season Wadebridge Cricket Club have had, The senior teams coming 2nd, 1st and 1st in their respective leagues and the 3rds becoming County Champions for the 2nd time in 2 years.
The Black Swans winning their softball league and the newly formed Cygnets coming a remarkable 3rd in their debut season.

2 x T20 Finals days reached and many personal bests broken. A County match held and the Somerset Showcase game a triumph.
Congratulations to everyone involved.

It's been a pleasure to capture some of the drama along the way, several 50's a handful of centuries, a few five wicket hauls and even a 7-fer for my son!
And a few too many nerve wracking last ball wins which given the length of a cricket match never ceases to amaze me.

So that's it, I can put my sports lens away and do something else on a Saturday.................. Oh wait, what's that Ollie ? St Minver Football Club would like a few photos done ?

Thank you to frankiethomasphotography for these great photos of the 3rd teams celebrations yesterday following their narrow victory over Barripper in yesterday’s division 4 playoff.

Yesterday capped a remarkable two years for the team, going from division 5 to division 3 as league champions and playoff winners in successive years. Huge congratulations to Leigh and Tinks and thank you for all they’ve given over the past two years and in Tinks’s case many more!

Thank you as ever to debbiebatephotography for these photos from today’s 2nd team county playoff which saw a narrow defeat for the team. Highlight of the day was Jack Gills run out alongside more wickets in a stellar season for Ollie Bate.

It has been a great season for Paul’s team as they return to County One after a two year absence, many congratulations to all the team.

Today’s final games of the outdoor season saw the 2nd team come up just short against St Erme and the 3rd team cap off a remarkable season with a narrow win over Barripper. Photos and more details to follow.

Congratulations to St Erme and Barripper on their fine seasons and huge thanks to Lanhydrock and St Stephen for being such great hosts.

And finally congratulations to captains Paul and Leigh and all the players on their superb seasons, you have done the club more than proud.

It’s the final team sheets of the outdoor season and there’s not just one team in the league finals but two! Many congratulations to the second and third teams on winning their leagues, a great achievement.

Tomorrow the 2nd team play St Erme at Lanhydrock and the 3rd team play Barripper at St Stephen. Both games start at 12.30. Support for the teams would be greatly appreciated.

Best of luck to both teams and congratulations on your title winning seasons.

Congratulations to first team left arm spinner Matthew Lawrence who ended the season tied for most Premier League wickets in 2026, taking 32 at an average of under 14. Whilst he may seem to be allergic to Premier League five-fers, his relentless consistency is a huge asset to the team as well as being a firm favourite with the Riverside supporters. And his last wicket partnership with Elliot Dunnett at Helston will live long in the memory.

Well played again this season Matthew.

So the league seasons are complete for 2026 and what a great season for all the senior teams.

The 1st team finished in second place for the second time in a row in the Premier League, with the 2nd and 3rd teams having amazing seasons and winning 2 East and 4 East respectively. Both the 2nd and 3rd teams also got to T20 finals days, coming up just short on the day.

The women’s hardball team finished in 3rd, their highest league finish for a decade and the Black Swans softball team won their league with the Cygnets coming third in the same league after a fantastic debut season. The Black Swans put in fine efforts on their league finals day but couldn’t quite claim back their county title last won in 2024.

Many congratulations and huge thanks go to all the captains and vice captains for all their efforts, and to all the players who have contributed to such fine seasons. Thank you also to everyone who supports the teams both home and away, it makes such a big difference!

And to the team off the field who help make cricket happen, it couldn’t be done without you so the biggest thanks of all.

The season isn’t quite over yet with the 2nd and 3rd teams having their playoff finals this Saturday, further details and teams to follow soon.

On their first season in a higher league the third team have been confirmed as Division 4 East champions! With an incredibly tight league going all the way down to the last weekend, the teams five wicket win at Werrington coupled with other results going their way means that they go back to back as league champions following their division 5 east title win in 2025.

Huge congratulations to Leigh, Tinks and all the team for an amazing season. Not only did they have a great league season they also got to the final of the Rosevear Cup, being the only team from Division 4 at finals day.

They now play division 4 west champions Barriper on Saturday at St Stephen in the league playoff. Support for the team is greatly appreciated.

What a season for the team, many congratulations to all involved.
