Core Judo

Core Judo Offering the highest level of judo coaching at their award winning club, in local schools or at their renowned holiday camps....

Core Judo was born on September 1st 2007. Its goal was to encourage children, through judo, to develop into better, more grounded human beings. The current social climate is giving out the wrong messages to children. Sport has not played a big enough role in changing the 'get rich quick', reward before hard work attitude that has pervaded. The ethos of judo is humility; honour in both victory and

defeat. It teaches self respect, self control and discipline in a fun and safe environment. This ethos is fundamental to the belief of Core Judo Coaching. We are not trying to coach your children into just being better judo players, we are trying to teach them life skills that they can use through school, university and in the wider world. It is a holistic approach that is much, much more than just sport. Classes are taught in a safe and fun environment with an emphasis on developing your child's self-confidence and installing a belief that through hard work and determination, you can achieve whatever you set your mind upon. Judo transcends sport; it can act as both a moral compass and a force for good. It teaches children self-control, respect and humility. I genuinely believe that through a sport such as judo, you can increase your empathy, channel your aggression and build both a healthy body and mind. The Modern Olympic sport of judo is all about using your opponent's strength and power to your advantage. It is a physical game of chess, where you are trying to throw or pin your opponent, selecting from a huge array of techniques.
