Verwood Badminton Club

Verwood Badminton Club plays mens, ladies and mixed matches on a Monday night from 20:00 - 22:00. at the Sports Hall, Emmanuel Middle School.

Prospective members or visitors should contact Club Secretary - [email protected] Verwood Badminton Club has been going for a very long time. We are not exactly sure how long but we know they entered a Team in the new Poole and District Friendly Badminton League in 1953. Our Season runs from September through to June and we play for two hours on a Monday. We have teams in Mixed League, Gents

League and Ladies League and play our home matches on a Friday. We are always actively looking for new members to boost club nights. We currently play on three courts, but courts are available so we do have the opportunity to expand the membership

If you currently play badminton or used to play at a reasonable sort of level*, please get in touch.

* Reasonable sort of level - we have many abilities in the club from Division 1 players to retired league players who just fancy a knock about and a bit of a social. Like many small clubs sadly we are unable to accommodate complete beginners, but if you have been playing for a bit and want to improve with club players, or maybe you have just moved to the area, PLEASE COME ALONG OR GET IN TOUCH! If we get enough interest, we would be delighted to enter more teams in the local leagues.

A really fun evening at Verwood Badminton Club last night, for our Annual Christmas Handicapped Tournament. A very good turnout with Phil and Glenys running out deserved winners. A quick mince pie and glass of Gluhwein finished off the night perfectly. Merry Christmas everybody! 🎅🎄❄️🍷🏸

Do you enjoy playing badminton and are an experienced club player? Maybe you haven't played for a while and are a bit rusty, but would like to get back into it? If so, why not come along to our FREE open night at our Verwood Badminton Club on MONDAY 8th SEPTEMBER between 8.30-10pm - Get the date in your diary now!

We are a friendly lot who have a club night on a Monday for ladies and gents at Emmanuel, with an option to play competitive league matches.

If you can't make 8/9/2025, just get in contact and we can arrange for you to come along another night for only £8.

A fab end of season “do” at the Spice of India in Verwood, it really was a lovely evening. We are back to the badminton action on 1st September, so if you are looking for a regular, fun club night on a Monday evening, watch this space. Whether you havent played for a while, and are looking to get back into badminton, or if you are a regular player, there is a place for you at our club.

A lovely Christmas do with the Verwood Badminton Club, at the Olive & Oak, wine tasting with lovely mixed platters. Unfortunately I only made nine out of the ten wines on offer, as my lift home arrived, but great value and would highly recommend one of their evenings at the O & O. We were tasked with guessing the wines, and countries, only 8 of which I thought were Spanish Malbecs. Before and after shots shown below.
