Massive congrats to on another great performance in some horrible conditions over the weekend in Race to remedy series 👏

There was no trophy for the season ending event 🤷🏻‍♂️ So we made do with a lovely selection of homemade banana bread 😂

How is your short game? Do you struggle around the greens, hitting it too hard or leaving it short?

The ladder drill is perfect for focusing on your landing zones and matching up a flight to it…

You can vary it from just around the edge of the green to 20/30 yards depending on what your working on. The aim is to be able to land it in each rung of the ladder and finish it close to the pin, each landing zone will require a slightly different shot and technique to execute

Can you complete the ladder?

My suggestion would be to work up and down the ladder changing each rung so you never hit the same shot twice. Some might change clubs each time, others might use the same club and play around with trajectory, give it a go and let us know how you get on 🙌

How do you practice your putting? Do you take note of any patterns that occur while on the course or during practice?

If your Struggling to see your ball going in the hole on the course… Give this a try to help match up your read and speed and start seeing a clear path to the hole ⛳️

1- Pick a putt of approximately 12-15ft

2- Read the putt as you would do normally and place two tee pegs just past halfway (7/8ft from starting point) that is 2 golf balls wide or a putter head (as seen in pic two)

3- Roll some putts and try to match up the speed to go through the gate and hole the putt or at least finish it 1/2ft past the hole.

What feedback did you get from this?

Through the gate but short or long? Sounds obvious but we know the aim and face control is good but let’s gets some work in on stroke length and rhythm to get the pace a little better.

Hit the left/ right of the gate or missed the gate completely 😳🙈??? Let’s check your alignment and work on some stability with the putter face.

You need control of both if your going to hole putts on a consistent basis so try this drill and get some great feedback and visuals and see some more putts drop on a regular basis 🙌

How good is your approach play? This test I love because not only does it require good ball striking, but also some smart positioning on the golf course!

The points for this game breaks down like this…

Holed Shot - 10 Points
Inside 10ft - 5 Points
Inside 20ft - 3 Points
Green in regulation (GIR) outside 20ft - 1 Point
Missed GIR - Minus 1 Point
Missed GIR short sided - Minus 3 Points
Missed GIR in Hazard - Minus 5 Points

From approximately 150 yards we want you to drop an extra ball when you play and record how many points you can accumulate for 9 holes. This should give you a range of around 140-170 yards in approach shots, so will be a nice mix to test your approach shots.

Record your points and try and beat them each time you go out on the course. Seeing any patterns? Missing short or long? Left or right? This is all great information to learn your tendencies and how to improve.
