Hi, I’m Liam, co-owner of Certainty Centre, and this is my story.
This is probably a bit of a late introduction, but looking at this photo, it felt like the right time to properly share where I started, how I got here, and why this place means as much to me as it does.
The gym was never something I thought I would end up doing. It definitely was not something I ever imagined I would one day be running. Before I started training, I was in a completely different place in life. I was struggling badly with depression and anxiety, and going through a lot personally. I did not walk into a gym full of confidence, with a perfect plan, knowing exactly what I was doing. If anything, I almost fell into it by accident.
But once I started, something clicked.
Very quickly, the gym became my safe space. It became the place where I could work out my emotions, work out my mental health, and just work out. It gave me somewhere to put everything I was carrying. All the stress, anger, sadness, frustration and pressure that I did not know what to do with, I found a place for it. Rep by rep, session by session, it became part of me.
I became addicted to the process. The discipline, the progress, the routine, the feeling of turning up even when my head was all over the place. I fell in love with the sport, not because it magically fixed everything overnight, but because it gave me something solid when life felt anything but solid.
The gym is not for everyone, and I completely understand that. But for me, I found my place in it.
And that is a massive part of why Certainty Centre exists today.
Certainty Centre was built from that feeling. The feeling of needing somewhere safe. Somewhere people can walk into no matter their background, their insecurities, their struggles, their mental health, their confidence, their fitness level, or whatever life has thrown at them.
We wanted to create a place where people could train, have fun, have a laugh, support each other, and feel like they belong. A place for normal people with real lives, real struggles, real insecurities, and real reasons for walking through the door.
Because to us, Certainty Centre is not just about weights, machines, sunbeds, or memberships.
It is about creating the sort of place I needed when I first started.
That is what this place means to me.
That is why we built it.
And if you are one of those people who feels like you need somewhere like that, please do not hesitate to come in, speak to us, hell, get to know us, have a session, sign up, and find your place, as I did.
Join us and our brilliant community of amazing members.
We welcome anyone and everyone who simply wants to better themselves.
