2026 Overviews

Hear from the captains of each senior men’s side after a chaotic 2026 season:

Elliott Doyle - 1st XI Captain
“A late-season losing streak saw us finish in 6th place, some way short of what we aimed for at the outset. Injuries added to the losses of form that hurt us throughout the year, but there were signs of growth from a few of the young lads in particular, and we’ll look forward to bouncing back in 2027.”

Jamie Benjamin Rayner - 2nd XI Captain
“A rocky start to life in a new Div 2 threatened to derail us, but the boys dug in, fought back, and finished a hard-earned 6th. We had a grinding mid-season slump, then a defiant August surge, achieving three wins in four, to close the season on a high. Lots of learnings to take into next year from our first outing in Div 2.”

“The team fought hard all year and we were unlucky to be on the wrong side of some results during the course of the season. Team spirit was fantastic and great to see some youngsters coming through. Whether Div 9 or 10 next year, we’re already excited for what’s ahead!”

2026 Final League Standings

After 18 weeks of competition, our three adult teams have concluded their league seasons.

The 1st XI finish in 6th place after a difficult second half of the season.

The 2nd XI finished their debut campaign in Division 2 in 6th place, a fantastic achievement for Jamie Benjamin Rayner ’s side.

Despite a brilliant effort in the last block of games, the 3rd XI are relegated by a single point.

LADIES OVERVIEW 🤩🏏

The Ladies’ 2026 campaign has come to a close, and it brings an end to a hugely successful season.

The Castles once again finished victorious of their league, winning all but one game. Many congratulations to Hannah Thompson for being the leagues leading run scorer, and Sally Clewer for being the second highest wicket taker in the league.

The Rooks’ debut campaign was also a success, achieving a 3rd place finish, special mention to Jane Thornton for being the 2nd highest wicket taker and Cath Yemm for being the leagues 4th highest run scorer and 9th highest wicket taker. Well done on a brilliant debut campaign!
