People often arrive to me believing anxiety is the problem.

Or overthinking.

Or low confidence.

Or the inability to switch off.

But those things are rarely the root cause.

They're usually intelligent adaptations.

Responses the mind and body developed to keep us safe.

Because the subconscious mind is extraordinary.

It learns.

It predicts.

It protects.

And if at some point in life it learnt that the world wasn't entirely safe, that love had to be earned, that conflict should be avoided, that perfection prevented criticism or that being ‘good’ kept everyone happy...

It will continue running those programmes long after they're needed.

Not because you're broken.

Because your mind is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The problem is that many of us are living from patterns created by younger versions of ourselves.

Versions that were simply trying to survive.

My work is about helping people understand those patterns.

Not just intellectually.

But emotionally.

Physiologically.

Subconsciously.

Together we explore the beliefs, experiences and protective strategies that have quietly shaped your life.

The things beneath the anxiety.

Beneath the self-doubt.

Beneath the people-pleasing.

Beneath the feeling that no matter how much you achieve, it's never quite enough.

Because healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about shedding what was never truly you.

Like a snake releasing an old skin it has outgrown.

Not because the skin was wrong.

But because it no longer fits.

Again and again I witness the same thing.

People arrive convinced they need fixing.

Then discover they were never broken at all.

They were carrying beliefs, fears, responsibilities and expectations that belonged to old chapters of their lives.

And when those begin to fall away...

Something remarkable happens.

They don't become somebody else.

They become more of themselves.

Calmer.

Stronger.

More authentic.

More free.

That is my work.

Not fixing.

Remembering who you were before the world told you who you needed to be. 🤍

Modern Pilates method is mind and body control as its original name ‘Contrology’ suggests.
Teaching and practice using your core to obtain precision and flow will enable use of the correct muscles, efficiently .
Personally due to a lifetime of excessive manual work and never time for exercise, a bad back led me to Pilates! that and the fear of osteoporosis.
I have been lucky enough to have been taught by one of Michael king’s protégées... just generations from Joseph Pilates
Having practiced for 14 years I finally had the courage to go to college to qualify as a practitioner as a result here we are today.

Most people don’t realise how much stress and anxiety live in the body long before they become thoughts.

By the time someone reaches burnout, it’s rarely just “too much work.”
It’s weeks, months… sometimes years of living in survival mode.
Overthinking everything.
Never fully switching off.
Sleeping, but never properly resting.
Functioning on the outside whilst the nervous system is quietly exhausted underneath it all.

This is one of the reasons hypnotherapy can work so powerfully for stress, anxiety and burnout.

Not because it’s “magic” (well actually it is a little bit 💫😅) or mind control…
But because it works with the subconscious and nervous system at the level the problem is actually being held.

In my clinic, we don’t walk in and immediately “do hypnosis.”
We start with conversation.
Understanding.
Talk therapy.
Creating safety and trust first.

Then, if the client feels comfortable, we gently move into hypnosis and nervous system regulation work.

That’s often the moment people realise how long it’s been since they truly felt calm.

Hypnotherapy isn’t about losing control.
If anything, it’s often the first time people feel back in control of themselves again.

I work with people experiencing:

You can know exactly why you react the way you do…
…and still feel trapped in the same cycle.

That’s because so many of our responses aren’t logical… they’re protective.
Patterns the subconscious mind learnt years ago to keep us safe.

Hypnotherapy works beneath the surface.
Not just talking about the anxiety, overwhelm, habits, fears or emotional patterns… but helping the nervous system and subconscious finally respond differently.

I’ve watched people leave sessions lighter.

HOW YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM PILATES ?
Pilates is effective, gentle, corrective and restorative.
It’s not a method of instant change on the scales! It will become part of your wellbeing. It’s likely you will feel or see change in shape and tone before a change in weight as muscle is heavier than fat.
After a few sessions you will
feel better, clothes will fit more comfortably, you will become more upright as your posture improves and tensions are eased away and within a few weeks you should be able to feel you move more freely.
We work from the inside out like so…
Training your breathing allowing you to make a mind muscle connection deep within to control and exercise your deep core muscles cinching your waistline and tummy using layers of your muscles.
I will educate you as to how your muscles work and where they are, to help you better understand how your core can stabilise and support your spine. Most importantly explaining exactly what CORE and PELVIC floor are!
The educational part of my instruction will help you realign your skeleton so that it is correctly stacked in your own natural physical position.
You cannot force posture !
You can remind your muscles ! Muscles have memory so its never too late to try to restore as much as we can, no matter what knocks we have had in life.
In resurrecting good posture we will also alleviate tension caused by incorrect posture eg if you hurt your knee its quite likely that your opposite hip will give discomfort as it overcompensates or if you are out in your hip your opposite knee or shoulder may be thrown out of kilter.
The more control we put in slowing movements down adding resistance or strength elements the more you will feel that your movements are becoming smoother and your range improves in day-to-day tasks.
Muscles need oxygen and water alongside nutritional elements from the bloodstream moreover they need to be warmed up to improve their condition.
Pilates breathing assists by deep nasal inhalations and lateral rib expansion increases volume of oxygen uptake volume of lung capacity and therefore improved cardiovascular circulation to deliver to the muscles. In addition full evacuation through the mouth removes waste product gases from the respiratory system, resulting in good fuelling for the muscle . All this leads to a healthier body.
Pilates energises the body, flosses the nervous system and leaves you uplifted not depleated post workout.
Spacial awareness increases because you are now confident and connected to your own body. This also improves balance and resistance to falls.
