This Wednesday (10 July) from 5pm onwards Jessie Aney, a US tennis pro (ranked 112 in the world in doubles) who helped us open our viewing area back in 2018, is returning for some hitting practice with up and coming junior Ilias Worthington who is aiming to go to the States on a tennis scholarship. Jessie and Ilias will also be around to do a Q&A after the session on tennis tips and see how some of mens A team fare against them.
Hopefully see as many of you down as possible and stay on for the big (football) match in the clubhouse.
Great evening of tennis and football to look forward to!

Two more weeks of Welcome Wednesday free tennis sessions today and next week (12th and 19th June) at Urmston Sports Club on Moorside Road.

Greetings all,

Our annual 3-way friendly grass tournament with Lymm and Bowdon is happening again this summer.

The format is three Sunday matches, one hosted by each club. The idea is to include players of all standards, so for each match, each club puts out a team of four mixed doubles pairs from different levels, which in our case are:
- 1st team
- 1st/2nd team
- 2nd team
- Non-team or occasional team players.

Each pair plays two sets against each of their two opposite pairings, with time to chat and to eat a sandwich lunch. 12.00 start, finish around 3.30.

The dates this year are :
- Sunday 2nd June at Bowdon
- Sunday 7th July at Lymm
- Sunday 28th July at Urmston

We aim to put out a different team for each match to give as many players as possible a chance to play.

If you’d like to play, you can put name forward either as a pair, or singly and we’ll find you a partner.

Last night after the Mens A team beat Bowdon Bowling B team 9-3 we were finally able to hand over the men's single trophy to Chris Flemming that he won last year! Well done Chris, very well deserved👏

In other news X 3 wins on Monday night. Ladies A team came out winners 11-1 in the SWMTL, the men's B team 11-1 and our D team in the NECL 7-5 winners. A great performance from all! 🎾💪👏

Don't forget tonight folks is our first welcome Wednesday starting 6pm, get yourself down, feel free to bring friends and family who'd like to give tennis a go. These sessions will be free for non members, though we do encourage donations. Coach Mike and his team will be running some coaching sessions as well. Hope you can make it. See you later tonight!

Sunday 24th March is our annual tennis spring clean. There’s loads of jobs we could do with help with around the courts and viewing area to get ready for the season - please come down and play some social tennis from 9am (all Astro courts booked out) and the clean up wil start from 10.30. Everyone very welcome - even if you aren’t planning on tennis please come and join in from 11.
